Fantasy Summary

A highly capable defensive centre thanks to his instincts, his positioning, and his frame.

Observations

July 2026 – Morozov had an impressive freshman campaign at Miami University Ohio. As one of the younger players in NCAA Division I, he handled difficult matchups with maturity, producing 20 points in 36 games while earning responsibilities on both special teams. His combination of size, hockey sense, and reliable two-way play allowed him to impact games even when he wasn’t finding the scoresheet.

While Morozov’s offensive game still has room to grow, his strong defensive habits, puck protection, and ability to play a complete 200-foot game have become defining traits. Continuing to add creativity with the puck and becoming more assertive in the offensive zone will be key to unlocking his ceiling, but his well-rounded foundation gives him the tools to develop into a dependable middle-six NHL center who will be able to contribute throughout the lineup. — Jayd Serdy

June 2026 – Morozov was selected 20th overall by the Sabres. He is an extremely big body, so he should be good in multi-category leagues, but his upside is a question mark and seems like he could develop more in the middle to bottom six. Pat Quinn
