Dan Hickling -- Elite Prospects

Fantasy Summary

Clarke has much work to do but his shot and ability to skate are what keeps his upside at a moderate level.

July 2024 – Clarke was traded to the Minnesota Wild. Clarke continues to progress well and recently made his NHL debut with the Devils this past season after being named an AHL All-Star. Natural goalscorer who knows how to get his release off. Skating is a bit average. He could benefit from getting out of the Devil’s forward logjam.  Austin Kelly

March 2022 – Clarke has stagnated offensively this season, putting up similar numbers this year (6 goals, 10 assists in 27 games) as last season (8-10-18 in 31 GP). The elements of his game that need the most work — his off-puck engagement, his defensive zone awareness, and his playmaking — are still concerns. I wouldn’t use a roster spot on him as of yet. Maybe if he picks up production-wise in the next few months, he could be worth a consideration. Hadi Kalakeche

March 2021 – Clarke just signed his first professional contract, and reported to Binghamton after his six games with Nove Zamky in Slovakia. He has two goals and an assist in seven games, playing with pace and intensity despite having just returned to North America. Clarke is likely to see NHL action next season, as the team builds around its young players. Hadi Kalakeche

January 2021 – Clarke was Canada’s last cut before the start of the World Juniors Championships, as he couldn’t shove Ryan Suzuki, Connor Zary, and Dawson Mercer out of the lineup. He has joined his brother Brandt (2021) in Nové Zamsky, Slovakia, to play in the country’s top-level, and has one point through four games for the club. Hadi Kalakeche

December 2020 – Graeme Clarke will be joining Team Canada for their selection camp ahead of the World Junior Championship. Clarke will have to fight some very good names out of the roster, as 26 first-round picks have been selected to the 47-player camp. If he shows the goal-scoring ability we saw prior to his injury in October, that should not be as hard as it seems. Hadi Kalakeche

March 2020 – Clarke has had some awful luck with injuries but was averaging just over a point a game in 16 contests (17 points). He is expected to come back next season at 100%.  Chris Wassel

January 2020 — Injuries have slowed down Clarke’s progress as he has only played nine games this season. He does have nine points but will need to get healthy to show what he can do.  Chris Wassel

June 2019 — Graeme Clarke’s biggest weapon is his shot. It is well above average and some believe it’s almost NHL level already. The problem is the other aspects of his game which can be lacking at times. Needs to work on defense, engaging the puck in his zone, and yes, score a little more.   Chris Wassel
