Observations
September 2025 – Laroque is now a member of the Montreal Canadiens after being traded for Carey Price’s contract. Alex Wyatt
August 2025 – Laroque has had a rollercoaster ride since being drafted by the Sharks. He posted the best season of his Junior career in his draft-plus-one season, and then missed nearly the entire 2022-2023 season after enduring double hip surgery. He returned in 2023-2024 and scored three points between nine games in both the AHL and ECHL. He did not play at all in the 2024-2025 campaign, and his future seems up in the air as we await to see if and where he plays in the upcoming season. Alex Wyatt
June 2022 – Laroque was a bit of a surprise selection in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft — however, he rewarded the Sharks faith with a substantial step forward in his second full WHL season. He scored 52 points in 63 games to finish 10th in league scoring by a defenseman and was one of a few bright spots on an otherwise weak Victoria Royals team. Laroque has already been named captain for the Royals next season and will look to solidify his newfound offensive streak. Donesh Mazloum
