December 2023 – Ambrosio’s college journey has unfortunately been on a downward trajectory since sophomore year, and the senior is currently sitting on 5 points in 16 games. He is seeing limited use behind a stacked Boston College forwards corps boasting multiple top prospects, which is unfortunate for his counting stats but also a realistic representation of how he would be used in the unlikely case that the Avs sign him to a contract before their rights expire in August 2024. Should any organization take a flyer on the centerman, he will have to maintain his 50/50 faceoff win% and rack up some multi-cat stats in order to be fantasy relevant, but it would be a long journey. Hayden Soboleski
March 2021 – Ambrosio had himself a good rookie NCAA campaign statistically with 7 goals and 15 points in 24 games. The undersized forward had no problem generating shots with 2.5/game and did see both powerplay and short-handed time throughout the year. He was used at both center and the wing and lost more faceoffs than he won which will have to change if he projects as a pro centerman. This was an impressive transition to a tougher league, that being said Boston College was a very strong group which always makes things easier. He is expected to return in 2020-21 where hopefully he can generate equal offense or better while playing a more consistent role. Hayden Soboleski
October 2020 – Ambrosio was drafted 118th overall by the Avalanche. Ambrosio is expected to spend at least two years in college before turning pro. Jokke Nevalainen
September 2020 – The Boston College commit had a great season with the Tri-City Storm, leading his team in points, with 50 in 48 games. He played most of the season as a center, but when needed, he can also divert to the winger position. During his draft year, he proved he has a great scoring touch, as well as an ability to play physical. Ambrosio is a great skater who has rapid first-few steps. He is usually very successful on the zone entries and making plays off the rush. With his hands and vision, he can quarterback the power-play, usually controlling the play along the half-boards or also on the point. Ambrosio will do anything he can to try and score from where he is. He can shoot in motion at high speeds and make a quick move to get to an open lane. Defensively, he does not back down from physically. He plays a smart positional game, taking away passing lanes, working well down low, and covering the cycle game. Clare McManus
