January 2024 – Still one of the top prospects in the organization, Brisson’s long awaited call-up came this month in the wake of a rash of injuries for the Golden Knights. Scoring at roughly the same clip this season with Henderson as the one prior, it only took him three games to let rip his first NHL goal, doing so against his former babysitter Sidney Crosby and the Penguins. If he keeps making positive contributions, then expect to see more of Brisson this year even after some injuries heal up for Vegas. Taylor Davis
June 2023 – As one of the gems of the Knight’s current prospect pool, Brisson made the jump to the pro ranks this season, and with it came an uptick in his game. While he didn’t see time at the NHL level on a stacked cup winning team this past season, he was the highest scoring “true prospect” on AHL Henderson, playing to the tune of 37 points in 58 AHL games. Brisson is a player who’s been noted for his high offensive awareness going back to when he was draft eligible, and he looked every bit as poised as you’d hope this past year against men while also ramping up his pace of play and production as the year went along (18 points in his final 20 games). Next season should help to flesh out if Brisson has another gear to reach offensively, as well as if he’ll stay at center going forward. All that said, internal depth aside, there’s an even stronger chance of Brisson getting games with the defending champs in 2023-24. Taylor Davis
October 2022 – Entering what was expected to be his final collegiate season, Brisson lit the Big Ten on fire over the course of his sophomore campaign, putting up a 21-goal, 42-point season in 38 games with the Wolverines. The Knight’s 2020 first-rounder also became an olympian for the first time, scoring twice in four games with Team USA in Beijing. Tack on a productive stretch with Henderson to end the year, and you end up with a season that understandably left Knights fans (and keeper league GMs) salivating. As a player who relies more on vision and goal-scoring ability than size and strength, time will tell how quickly Brisson is able to reach the NHL level. Brisson will start his first full pro season back in the AHL, but don’t be shocked to see him get some NHL games in before the season’s end. Taylor Davis
November 2021 — Ten games into the 2021-22 campaign, Brisson, now a sophomore at the University of Michigan, leads the highly-ranked Wolverines with seven goals and is tied for second on the squad in overall points with 12. Continuing a trend established throughout his NCAA and USHL careers, he’s once again racking up penalty minutes at a minute-per-contest rate, with 12. The 2020 first round selection, a cerebral and deft skater and current linemate of top Kraken prospect Matty Beniers, projects to enter Vegas’ system following the current collegiate season. Kevin Wickersham
October 2020 — Brisson was drafted 29th overall by the Golden Knights. Brisson is expected to play NCAA hockey in 2020-2021 and could leave school after two years. Jokke Nevalainen
June 2020 — It was a heck of a draft-eligible season for the first-year USHL centre. He lined up on the most dominant USHL squad we’ve seen in years. And he was the straw that stirred the drink for the Chicago Steel from puck drop in September. His impact on the game was most impressive on the man-advantage where his one-timer from the circle/slot area demoralized many an opponent. He ended the season as the USHL’s Rookie of the Year and a First-Team All-Star. Additionally, he was special at the World Junior A Championships where he racked up a tournament-leading 12 points in just six contests – tying Andrei Svechnikov and Nick Schmaltz for the most ever at that event. Brisson has aligned himself as a first-round prospect and maybe even one that goes early on in the top-20. Cam Robinson
