A big-bodied winger with a powerful shot. Murray’s ability to get into the high danger areas coupled with his shot makes him a nice goal-scoring option for his team. He typically lines up in “Ovechkin’s office” on the powerplay leading to plenty of chances for powerplay goals.

March 2022 – Murray is currently playing for the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL, with fellow Canes prospect Beck Warm. He is fifth in team scoring with 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points. His 54 games played is higher than the majority of the team, and he sits a woeful minus 29, worst on the team. Murray will need to progress a good amount more before forcing the Hurricanes to move him up the depth chart. Alex Wyatt
April 2021 – Murray finished his time in Sweden (HockeyEttan) with seven goals and 16 assists in 16 games played. He came back to North America and signed an ATO with the Chicago Wolves on April 2nd but has yet to appear in a game for them yet. The OHL officially announced that their season will not be played this season so if Murray plays another game this year it will be in the AHL. Austin Broad
February 2021 – Murray is enjoying a nice season since joining Surhammers IF in HockeyEttan. In 10-games played, he has scored four goals and added 11 assists. His best performance was a five-point performance vs Kumla HC. He has produced at every level, and with the OHL’s season still very much up in the air, it looks like he will be staying in Sweden for the foreseeable future. This professional experience for the 19-year-old will do a lot for him, and seeing his shot translate to a higher level bodes well for his future as a professional goal scorer. Austin Broad
