February 2018 – Moutrey was dealt from the Blue Jackets to the Senators along with a 2020 3rd round pick in a deadline deal that saw Ian Cole flip from Ottawa to the Blue Jackets after being traded from Pittsburgh the day before. Moutrey has stagnated a tad in his third AHL campaign recording just three goals and six points in 22 contests. Never expected to be much of an offensive producer, at 22 years of age, he needs to begin seperating himself from other prospects if he hopes to carve out a bottom six role in the NHL. Cam Robinson

December 2017 – A solid OHL scoring threat with 58 goals and 97 assists in 261 Saginaw and North Bay games, Moutrey has morphed into a scrappy penalty killer and jack of all trades as a pro. While serving at times on AHL Cleveland’s top line, and possessing strength that enables rifle shots and crisp passes, he’s not continued his juniors’ scoring clip managing merely 17 goals and 14 assists in 130 American League contests. He contributes intensity on the ice, not afraid to stand up for teammates by confronting opponents and checking hard in all zones. He profiles as a “glue guy” who can do the little things right, battle for and distribute the puck, and leave the scoring to others. Kevin Wickersham
