Observations:

September 2017 – The Jets assigned the 21-year-old to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. No surprise here as De Leo has struggled to find his place in the organization and with plenty of players with similar talent ahead of him on the depth chart, it makes you wonder if he will ever get a strong look in a Jets uniform? Jamie Zadow

July 2017 – After a cup of coffee with Winnipeg at the end of the 2015-16 season, De Leo spent all of last season with the Manitoba Moose where he finished with 14 goals and 32 points in 69 games. De Leo hasn't packed much of a scoring punch during his last two seasons in the AHL, and with a smaller 5-9 frame, the 21-year-old will likely need to impress the Jets coaching staff elsewhere if he wants to make the jump full-time to the NHL this season. Jamie Zadow

October 2016 – The Jets sent De Leo to the AHL's Manitoba Moose to start the season. – David Dickenson

September 2016 – De Leo is another small, scoring forward in the Winnipeg organization, but for him the addition of a little more feistiness to his game could be crucial for him to find a regular spot on the Jets roster. Size will certainly be an issue for the skilled forward, but if he could take a page out of guys like Brad Marchand and Brendan Gallagher's playbook's he'd significantly help his professional prospects. – David Dickenson

April 2016 – De Leo had a strong first season with the Manitoba Moose putting up 19 goals and 40 points in 73 games in the AHL. Receiving a call-up to the Jets late in the season, De Leo got into two games though he didn’t register any points. He will look to have a strong follow up season and earn a longer look in the NHL. De Leo likely needs quite a bit more seasoning in the minors before he becomes a full time pro. – Aynsley Scott

September 2014 – Chase De Leo has been sent back to the Portland Winterhawks by the Winnipeg Jets. Look for him to continue developing and see a bigger role with the Winterhawks. Kevin Won

June 2014 – The Winnipeg Jets selected Chase De Leo 99th overall at the 2014 NHL Draft. Brendan Ross

May 2014 – Heralded for his intense compete level and overall hockey sense, Chase De Leo is a small quick centerman who flashes crafty puck skills and a patient puck possession approach. Competing on a deep Portland Winterhawks team, De Leo was able to accumulate 39 goals and 81 points in 72 games, a feat worth mentioning because opportunities are hard to come by. His size and strength are areas of concern but he plays a well-rounded game and his overall intelligence makes him a versatile forward.   Brendan Ross

Fantasy Outlook: B –

De Leo has always found a way to score at every level, but may have to adopt some some Brendan Gallagher-esque tenacity to find a full-time role in the NHL.
