The 2012 Memorial Cup is underway, and the opening game saw the Edmonton Oil Kings come away with a 4-3 victory over Shawinigan. Draft-eligible defenseman Griffin Reinhart was the games' First Star, with a goal and an assist. Reinhart is 6'4 and may still be growing, and has huge potential as well. Has has an [...]
Thursday, May 17 @ 11:00 am EST Starting with a few of my tweets from the other day... "@RossyYoungblood Did you know, London Knights have never went through an NHL draft without having a player drafted since changing their name to 'Knights' in 1968" In the history of the Ontario Hockey League, [...]
Congratulations to the Edmonton Oil Kings for winning the WHL Championship and booking the final ticket to the CHL MasterCard Memorial Cup. Edmonton defeated a star-studded Portland Winterhawks featuring Sven Bartschi (Flames), Ty Rattie (Blues), Brad Ross (Leafs), Joe Morrow (Penguins) and Derrick Pouliot (2012 eligible) in game seven. Congratulations to the Penticton Vees [...]
The London Knights defeated the Niagara Ice Dogs 2-1 in game five to win the OHL Championship and advance to the Memorial Cup. Nashville prospect Austin Watson was named the MVP of the playoffs, finishing with 17 points in 19 games. With recent concerns about Yakupov and other possible top five selections, combined with Murray not looking out of place playing with Canada at the World Championship, it could happen. Consider [...]

Mid afternoon updates at the major junior level.... London Knights' goaltender Michael Houser (undrafted) was named the OHL's Most Outstanding Player receiving the Red Tilson Award. Houser has been passed over twice at the NHL Entry Draft and he will hopefully get nabbed in his third try. Houser suited up for an astonishing 62 [...]
I would like to apologize for being somewhat absent over the past week here at DobberProspects and via twitter (where many of you reach out for help). Life needed me to attend to some personal issues and hockey was put on the back burner. Thanks for your patience. As mentioned earlier in the [...]
