January 2019 – Kilmchuk did not last long in Toronto, and has been traded to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Gabriel Gagne. Hayden Soboleski

Nov 2018 – Klimchuk has been traded to Toronto. Calgary struggled on the backend this year and as others were called up to fill bottom-six roles, it’s the writing on the wall for Klimmer. One for one trade.  – Joel Henderson

Oct 2018 – Calgary placed Morgan on waivers, going unclaimed, and he’s been assigned to Stockton. He spoke about creating more offence and he has the opportunity to do it. His two-way game is pro level but it will be tough sailing to find himself in the NHL again with Calgary. – Joel Henderson

July 2018 – Morgan finished the year with an injury which kept him out of the lineup. He received a qualifying offer from the Flames which is a result of his continual growth as a two-way player. He spoke in his Stockton Heat exit interview about focusing on offensive skills and taking more risks next year. He might be a surprise in training camp 2018-19. He will most likely play a majority of games in Stockton though. Joel Henderson

Feb 2018 – An incredibly underrated player. He receives his first call up to the NHL as the Flames place someone on the IR. While his overall game has been consistent, his offensive game has seen some inconsistency in the last month or so. Klimchuk’s report card has always been that he can play with anyone and make his line mates better. If Morgan sees some action expect smart passes, effective forechecking, and a positive presence on the PK. I wouldn’t expect fantasy relevancy right away at the NHL level. – Joel Henderson

Aug 2017 – After improving from nine points to 43, Klimmer remains one of the most underated prospects in the Flames organization. He scored 50 points in 33 games for Brandon and put up 74 points in 57 games before that. Straight up – Morgan improved every aspect of his game this year and because of that he has the ability to step onto an NHL ice and be effective in multiple different roles. If he can continue to use his speed and improve his strength in the corners, he can contribute. It might not be until 2018-19, but Morgan will eventually get a cup of coffee in the NHL to see what he can do. – Joel Henderson

Jan 2017 – Despite a lack of team success, Klimchuk put up five points in ten games in the month of January. While that may seem average, his shot production remained high, and he was among the most consistent forwards for the Heat. If Stockton is to try to turn the tides, Klimchuk will have to find ways to show leadership. While his point totals aren’t as impressive as they were entering 2017, he is still one of Calgary’s top prospects and the effort night in and night out shows it. – Joel Henderson

Nov 2016 – It took Klimchuk seven games to pass his point total from last season, in which he played 55 games. Expecting Morgan to have a step-forward season was predictable, but this was tough to imagine. He is using his speed and elite hockey sense to create great opportunities off the rush. Since Klimchuk is such a competitive two-way player, this offensive push makes him a legit middle-six prospect. – Joel Henderson

Oct 2016 – Klimchuk has been assigned to the AHL but make no mistake, he had a good camp. His skating has shown improvement. Expect a confident Klimchuk to be the most improved offensive threat on Stockton. With the depth of the previous Heat squad, Klimchuk was often sharing minutes with grinders and forecheckers. – Joel Henderson

May 2016 – Morgan focused on the defensive side of the pro ice this season while recovering from a nagging shoulder injury, received bottom-six minutes and very little PP time. In an exit interview he spoke about being much more confident in his two-way pro playing style and said next season he will begin to take more risks in the offensive zone. Klimchuk is already a solid skater and makes great tape to tape passes. He was touted as a pro complimentary player who makes his linemates better and as the season progressed he showed more of that. Expect him to have a rebound year, playing top-six minutes and changing games on both sides of the ice. – Joel Henderson

Dec 2015 – Morgan recorded his first goal and multi-point night as a pro. He collected a PP goal and added an assist later on in the game. Morgan has always been an outstanding complimentary prospect who thrives on supporting his linemates. Hopefully he can continue to have success on a line with Grant and Carroll. If he is truly at 100% health, he should continue to get minutes on the powerplay and build upon his first pro season. Don’t expect a call up any time soon.  – Joel Henderson

Nov 2015 – Four games into this season and Morgan is down with a shoulder injury. It should keep him sidelined for a few weeks. He is still looking for his first pro point. Do not let this change your current fantasy opinion of him. – Joel Henderson

Sept 2015 – Morgan impressed the coaching staff during the prospects camp and during main camp this season. With crowded wingers, Klimmer will most likely spend the year getting used to pro hockey in the AHL. Calgary released that he was the most fit of the prospects, therefore his skill set and work ethic should mean significant ice time in multiple situations. – Joel Henderson

October 2014 – Klimchuk has been assigned to the Regina Pats of the WHL. Brad Wilson

May 2014 – Klimchuk played in four games with the Heat to close out the regular season. He failed to record a point and was a minus-2 with four penalty minutes. Brad Wilson

April 2014 – Klimchuk is scheduled to make his pro debut with the AHL’s Abbotsford Heat. He finished the junior season with 74 points (30 goals) in 57 games. With even more potential new additions coming from college, the Heat are poised for a good playoff run and Klimchuk will benefit greatly from the experience. Brad Wilson

June 2013 – Morgan Klimchuk posted very good numbers scoring 36 goals and 76 points for the Regina Pats in his second full WHL season. Those statistic achievements are even more impressive considering the weak team he competed on drawing the opposition’s top defensive pairings. Klimchuk is a highly competitive player and one of the better shooting forwards available in the 2013 draft class. He displays good vision, creative puck skills and an ability to control possession. Coming into the draft, the speedy Klimchuk has the potential to become one of the better players in this crop, especially if he slides outside of the first round. Brendan Ross
