Fantasy Summary
Fasching has the makings of an NHL power forward, both in size and skill. He’s getting older though and it’s looking less likely he’ll have an impactful NHL career.

September 2021- Fasching saw a different role last year, spending most of the season on Arizona’s taxi squad. He didn’t see a lot of game action, five games with the Coyotes and two with Tucson. Arizona liked him in that depth role and signed him to a one-year, two-way contract. He’ll most likely split this year between the NHL/AHL again, don’t expect big point totals. Keith Duggan
September 2020- Fasching had another productive year with the Coyotes AHL affliate Tucson. His 19 goals were good for second on the team and 35 points sixth, pretty similar numbers as 2018-19 campaign. Once considered a top prospect, Fasching is now 25-years-old, and while he’s been good in the AHL, he hasn’t been dominate enough to stick out. If you still have him in a dynasty league it might be time to cut ties. Keith Duggan
July 2019- The Coyotes have announced that the team has resigned Fasching to a two-year, two-way contract. He racked up 16 goals and 33 points in the 2018-19 season. Fasching ranked third on Tucson in goals and fifth in points. While he did see a recall to the Coyotes, Fasching did not appear in any games for the big club. At 23-years-old now, he starting to slip out of prospect territory and into good AHL player who could possibly come up to the NHL as an short-term injury replacement option. Keith Duggan
March 2019- With Derek Stepan out four to six weeks with a lower-body injury, Fasching has been recalled to the Coyotes. So far he’s put up 12 goals and 25 points in 48 games with Tucson and has been very steady with a handful of standout games. Has matched his single-season high in goals and is on pace to have the best offensive AHL season of his career. Keith Duggan
June 2018- Fasching has been traded to the Arizona Coyotes for Mike Sislo and the rights to Brandon Hickey. He just completed the past season racking up 12 goals and 30 points in 69 games with Rochester. Fasching also played five scoreless games with the Sabres, averaging 9:42 of ice time. With the Coyotes looking for some size on the wings he could see a bigger opportunity in Arizona. Keith Duggan
February 2018 – Competing in his second AHL season, Fasching has bested last year’s point total with 19 and assists with 12. It’s safe to say that the big man needs to work on being a more consistent offensive threat as he’s scored just one goal over the past three months, granted he did spend a couple weeks up with the big club playing five games but failing to register a point. Brad Phillips
December 2016 – Hudson Fasching started the season shaky with the NHL club before a groin injury caused him to be sent down to the AHL with the Rochester Americans. Fasching has not played a game with the Amerks thus far and it is believed that Fasching aggravated his groin injury and he remains out week-to-week. Max Marko
March 2016 – The Buffalo Sabres have signed Hudson Fasching to a three-year entry-level contract worth $4.05 million in total. Fasching joined the Sabres immediately after his University of Minnesota season completed. Fasching finished his NCAA season with over a point-per-game player with 38 points (20-18) in 37 games played. The Sabres seem to be excited about the prospect of Fasching, who will be making his debut Saturday afternoon against the Winnipeg Jets wearing #52 and likely start the game on the fourth line.
January 2016 – Fasching scored two shorthanded goals Saturday January 9th against Penn State, Minnesota won the game 7-1. Hudson’s first goal was the game winner halfway through the first period. Fasching now has 20 points (11 goals, nine assists) in 19 games (1.05 rate).
December 2015 – Hudson Fashing scored the overtime winner to give his team the win over Ohio State on December 4th, Fudson also added an assist in that game. He now has five goals and five assists in 12 games played. Hudson is helping the Gophers to a 8-2-2 start to the season and is second on the team in scoring. At the beginning of his junior year, Fasching was named an alternate captain. Fasching continues to develop his leadership role to go along with his offensive game. He is growing into a great winger with a lot of NHl potential. – Paul Zwambag
June 2015 – In Fasching’s second full season at the University of Minnesota he scored 12 goals and 26 points in 38 games played. Hudson helped lead the Gophers to the NCAA Tournament, but lost in the first round. He also played for the WJC for the USA, who finished second in their pool behind Canada, but lost to the Russians in the Quarterfinals. Fasching finished the tournament with one goal, three points and nine shots on goal in five games played. Hudson Fasching has two more college eligible years at Minnesota, he will likely use both those years to continue to grow his game both offensively and defensively. Do not give up on Fasching, he is just taking the longer route to becoming an NHLer and should continue to receive increased ice-time as he moves into his junior and senior years at Minnesota. Keep him on your long term prospects list, still two to three years away. Paul Zwambag
March 2014 – The Buffalo Sabres have acquired Hudson Fasching, along with Nicolas Deslauriers, in exchange for defenseman Brayden McNabb and two draft picks. Fasching joins a growing prospect system chalked full of promising young forwards so this move will certainly be a challenge for Fasching as he will have plenty of competition down the road. In his first NCAA season, Fasching recorded 12 goals and 27 points in 31 games for the University of Minnesota, placing him 3rd in team scoring. Brendan Ross
January 2014 – For the second time in the past calendar year, Hudson Fasching has suited up for the United States and been a solid force for the squad. After playing for the U18 Junior team (7 games 0-6-6), Fasching skated on the third line for the U20 team and put together some very solid games. Skating in five matches, he tallied four points (2-2-4) on only 13 shots and finished a plus-2 for an American team that started the tournament with three straight wins only to drop their final two. While Fasching did not commit any huge errors, he also played a very safe game and almost seemed timid at times. These may be the types of shifts you would expect from the third line but he needs to get aggressive if he hopes to move up the ranks in hockey. Fasching played an ordinary game when ordinary is not enough. Pete Richmire
April 2013 – Hudson Fasching is a power forward in every sense of the word. He’s big, has excellent puck possession skill and is hard to get off the puck. Fasching is excellent in the offensive zone and drives the net with ease, creating opportunities. He also has a powerful shot and soft hands that allow him to lift the puck with little effort. Fasching has a nose for rebounds and has no problem taking the abuse in the slot above the crease. Fasching combines his big frame with great speed up the middle and is hard to stop once he gets going. Defensively he still has some work to do as he tends to look lost in his own zone and gives up on his man way too easily. That being said, he is an accurate passer and gets himself out of trouble more often than not. Brendan Ross
