About Mark Allan

A semi-retired freelance writer, editor and recipient of the Eric Dunning Integrity Award, Mark Allan draws on more than three decades of journalism experience as a newspaper reporter, editor and publisher. He’s also worked in radio sports departments, watching WHL and Junior B games. As a sports editor, he’s watched NHL games from press boxes in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. Mark has loved hockey since he was a lad, and in the 1990s wrote for and edited nationally distributed hockey pool mags Sharks and Prey and Hockey Pool Prophet. He’s also written for the Sports Forecaster, Ultimate Pool Preview and, of course, Dobber Sports. As a Dobber correspondent, he currently covers the prospect pool of the New York Islanders. Mark lives on gorgeous Vancouver Island off Canada’s west coast. @Islander2023
