*** Trade activity has already started this weekend, with Nash and Brassard deals shipping picks and prospects across the league and even more to come. The obvious fallout of this is the big name added to one roster, with prospects or picks being added to the other organization. But if this prospect isn't NHL-ready, the [...]
*** One of the most fun (but often depressing) things to do is to look back at draft days from years past, and see the inevitable big misses. NHL teams' scouting departments aren't perfect and never will be, but with the amount of travel and video accessible to scouts these days, I would assume that, [...]
*** The trade deadline is approaching, and rather than list off the same NHL names you'll hear in rumors for the next two weeks, lets look at some of the prospects that could be in the return packages come Feb. 26. Big name players like Nash, Hoffman, Pacioretty, Kane, and others most likely wont be [...]
*** With the All-Star break upon us and the second half of the season ahead, we enter the dog days of the season where many players off to promising starts begin to slow down. What I wonder is: Does a rookie's previous league (CHL, NCAA, AHL) affect their season first-half/second-half splits? My hypothesis going into [...]

Usually this spot belongs to fellow editor Cam Robinson, but for life reasons we're swapping this week - you can catch his Ramblings on Sunday. *** One of the reasons Dobber is legendary for fantasy coverage is the annual Mid-Season guide (click for more info). I've been lucky enough to [...]
*** First things first - the annual DobberHockey Mid-Season Guide got released this week, you can check it out HERE. It is always an invaluable resource for fantasy owners, and I'm honored to have contributed several profiles for it once again. *** Now with half a season to judge our current rookie class, I [...]
*** Anyone who reads my content regularly knows that I'm always interested in discussing the particular ice time and usage prospects see in the NHL. Some get into lots of games but in a role so limited they become fantasy irrellevant, whereas others truly jump into the important role they deserve, albeit only when injuries [...]
*** Happy holidays everybody! I planned on keeping this ramblings short, but once again got sucked into answering a question that I've been debating with people recently... Not long ago, when rookies earned their ice time starting low in the lineup and worked their way up regardless of their talent or scoing pedigree, rookies [...]
