Tinus Luc Koblar

September 2026 – Koblar had an excellent first pro year at Leksands, posting 14 points in 47 SHL games as a teenager while holding his own against men’s-level competition – a strong foundation for a 6-4 centre with above-average skating and sharp hands. His international performances were the real highlight: a standout showing for the Norway junior squad in the Division 1A World Juniors followed by nine points in ten games for the senior Norwegian national team at the World Championship, where he competed effectively against NHL-calibre talent. He currently stands as one of Toronto’s most intriguing forward prospects not named Gavin McKenna. His skating is already at or near NHL level, though improving his edges and agility would help him at the next level. A leap to North American pro hockey could come as soon as this year depending on development camp results. The safe projection is a bottom six centre; second-line upside is possible but a long shot. Likely to be a first round pick in any 2026 future re-draft, he’s worth a swing in dynasty formats. Ryan Downey

September 2025 – The Maple Leafs have slowly endured a culture change since Brad Treliving took the helm as the general manager. Tinus Luc Koblar is an example of this shift in full swing now. Often in the Kyle Dubas years, the former Leafs GM would prioritize skill over brawn, but with the selection of the 6-3 centre, those days appear to be over.

Koblar already has a lot of the mechanics that make him a very projectable player at centre. He skates well for a younger player his size and uses his stride to impose himself off the rush and can find softer areas of the ice. He is the type of player the team had been lacking until the arrival of Matthew Knies, but there is always room for more. Koblar stands to improve his offensive game with another season for Leksands in the J20 league in Sweden. If he can show tangible growth in his offensive game, he could make the jump to North America rather soon. If he does, the allure of his projectable game could entice the team to give him a cup of coffee in the NHL sooner than later. Sean Crocker

Final Rankings – Tinus Luc Koblar’s package of tools is very enticing. The tall and lanky center combines sharp agility with very quick handles to exploit strong defenses. He also has moments of physicality that should only become more frequent and violent as he gets stronger.—Ethan Lindley
