Fantasy Summary

Competitive and powerful two-way winger with strong playmaking instrincts.

Observations

September 2026 – Zonnon produced at a high rate in his D+1 campaign with the Armada – 46 points in 35 QMJHL games was good for 6th in team scoring despite Zonnon playing fewer games than his teammates. He was a key contributor in the playoffs for BBA, and upon their outster, joined Wilkes-Barre for an equally outstanding playoff run with the AHL club, generating a lot of organizational buzz in the process. Bill plays the prototypical power winger game, except it’s from the centre ice position. He gets involved on the forecheck as well as anyone and shows enough skill at lower levels to tantalize you with the possibility that it could translate to the NHL some day. His floor is an NHL depth player who is defined by his motor but aggressive projections will see him as a complimentary top six player, in the mold of a Bryan Rust if he doesn’t stick at centre (which is entirely possible). Dubas’ 2025 draft is looking increasingly likely to be the foundation of a core that will carry the Penguins into the future and Zonnon is a big part of that. Ryan Downey

August 2025 – While not the flashiest player, Zonnon is an effective, rugged winger who quietly dominated the QMJHL with Rouyn-Noranda. His 83 points were second on the team, but his play in the postseason was his money maker. The most notable part of Zonnon’s game is his consistency and reliability. All three zones have his full effort, and he makes it difficult for opponents to have any easy play. His offensive game is also strong, with good puck skills and the ability to create plays for his linemates. Zonnon remains unsigned by the Penguins and will head to Blainville-Boisbriand Armada for this season, looking to refine his overall game before turning pro. Nick Orr

June 2025 – Selected 22nd overall, Bill Zonnon is now a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Mark Henry

Final Rankings – Bill Zonnon brings a lovable and projectable approach to the game that NHL teams might appreciate. The 6-2 centre from the Q is fast, intense, and has some untapped playmaking potential. The skating is a work in progress, but he’ll crack an NHL bottom 6. Traded to Blainville-Boisbriand Armada this summer.—Whittaker Heart

January 2025-Bill Zonnon is a big and versatile forward who can play the wing or center. What stands out the most about Bill is his compete level. He’s relentless every shift on puck carriers and uses his size well to win board battles. Zonnon possesses a long and powerful skating stride, which allows him to be dominant in transition. Paired with a good skill level and a strong understanding of the game, it gives him a safe floor as a prospect. The only knock on Zonnon’s game would be his explosiveness and agility on his skates. Improvements would give him upside as a complementary top 9 forward in the NHL. Éloi Biondo
