June 2026 — Gallacher split his draft year between Brantford and Guelph, moving to the Storm in the late-November trade that sent Flyers first-rounder Jett Luchanko the other way. He plays a third-defenseman style at center: heavy and persistent on the forecheck, detailed in his own end, and trusted on faceoffs, where he takes the hard draws and treats them as a point of pride. A sprained MCL cost him roughly a month, and his Central Scouting stock fell with it, from 62nd among North American skaters at midterm to 119th on the final list. That slide tracks the missed time and a modest point total more than any change in how he plays. The offense is the question that decides his fantasy value. He put up 46 points in 26 games at the U18 level and reached double-digit goals as an OHL rookie, so the hands and finish aren’t missing, but the production hasn’t scaled with the step up in competition. A bottom-six checking role with penalty-kill minutes is the realistic NHL outcome, and that usage rarely generates counting stats worth rostering. Guelph hosts the 2027 Memorial Cup and will lean on him as a featured second-year player, which gives him a real runway to push the scoring forward. If it climbs toward 60 points in the OHL next season, the projection shifts from organizational depth toward a fourth-line NHLer with occasional secondary value, which is where the 3.5 upside sits.
