Fantasy Summary
Poised and efficient in all three zones, though has struggled to establish himself as more than a puck-mover.
Observations
July 2025 – One of the newest members of the Nashville Predators organisation, Huang has committed to Harvard University for the 2026-27 season. It is unlikely he will be NHL-ready by then, so it is a fair bet he will lace up the skates for Harvard for at least two seasons. Look for Huang to improve on his offensive output in 2025-26 in the QMJHL as he works to establish himself as an offensive provider from the back end. He has the potential to be a bottom-four defenseman in the NHL if he can get stronger physically and contribute offensively at higher levels by the time he gets a look in the NHL. Ioan Gheordanescu
June 2025 – Selected at one hundred and twenty-second overall, Alex Huang is now a member of the Nashville Predators. Alex Wyatt
Final Ranking – Slight in size and without a standout skill, Huang is still an effective puck mover and defender.—Luke Sweeney
June 2025—A dependable QMJHL defender and puck mover who, despite his four-way mobility and solid puck skill, plays with little flash or flourish. It’s likely for this reason why Huang has dropped over the course of the season. Frankly, little has changed in his game between now and the Hlinka (where he was viewed by some as a first rounder). But, there also hasn’t been much development, especially in his ability to move the needle offensively. Being on the smaller side as well, it may be difficult to project a 6-0 puckmover with little offensive touch to the NHL.—Luke Sweeney
