Quinn Beauchesne

September 2026 – Beauchesne took a step forward in his D+1 OHL campaign, posting 35 points in 56 games for Guelph and adding a single AHL appearance with Wilkes-Barre. His skating remains the defining quality – an explosive, high-tempo mover who closes gaps and pushes pace from the back end. He heads to Boston College this year with added size and the expectation of a prominent role. The development task is learning when to use that mobility productively rather than overextending and finding himself out of position – a discipline issue that needs to tighten before he can become a reliable pro option. A strong NCAA campaign would set up an AHL path, and from there a top-four NHL role would be the ideal outcome for a Pittsburgh organization that needs defensive depth. August 2025 – Beauchesne is a great skater and a mobile puck mover from the back end. He is also a scoring option, having registered 24 points for Guelph in the 2024-25 season. With his skating, Beauchesne is an all-around solid blueliner and, with the right developmental track, could be an intriguing top-four option for Pittsburgh’s defensive core. Nick Orr

Final Rankings – Beauchesne is an elite skater with aggressive, high-tempo play who excels at closing gaps, disrupting rushes, and setting the game’s pace. While he needs physical growth and could use some polish in his shift-to-shift execution, his mindset, mobility, and two-way upside make him a potential late steal with breakout potential.—David Saad

June—Beauchesne—who suited-up twice for Team Canada this year, wearing an ‘A’ at the U18s—is a player who plays an aggressive game across the board. He finishes his checks, flings point shots on goal, and defends his line hard, both in pinches and at his own blueline. He’s also a strong skater (which aids him in all of the above) and allows him to push pace.

In a draft lacking strong offensive options from the backend, Beauchesne offers a lot of upside as a potential volume-shooter and play extender. As long as he continues to work on his playmaking and in-zone defence, Beauchesne should have a future as a two-way NHL defenseman.—Luke Sweeney
