Shamar Moses

August 2025 – Moses, like the prior two picks, has an NHL frame at 6-1 and 201 lbs. More intriguingly, Moses has the highest offensive upside among this Panthers draft pool. He should have gone at least 50-70 picks earlier. His shooting and passing are far and away his best assets and he projects as a boom or bust middle-six winger. Moses will need to work with a skating coach to become an NHLer but the upside here is quite interesting. Watch for a big year in the OHL next year. James Connelly

Final Rankings – Still a super toolsy checking winger—counting creative handling, strong playmaking vision, and an NHL-level shot among his skills—Moses has fallen in our rankings as his offensive success and middle-lane-driving have tailed off.—Luke Sweeney

June—Moses is a toolsy winger whose stock rose significantly following a trade to North Bay. Initially stuck further down in the Erie Otters depth chart, Moses became one of the Battalion’s most important players shortly thereafter. His most projectable elements are his NHL-level shot and his consistently intense checking game.

However, Moses struggled to find offence consistently in North Bay. He exploded out of the gate, but cooled off significantly as he struggled to find the middle and make high-end plays on a game-to-game basis. There are flashes of higher-level handling and playmaking, but even if the offence doesn’t hit, his tools and approach should lead to an NHL job.—Luke Sweeney
