Observations

September 2026 – Hammell made his professional debut in 2025-26 after signing his entry-level contract with Seattle and appeared in 44 games with Coachella Valley, recording six goals and 13 points. Injuries limited his availability, but he still made an impression defensively, finishing second among Firebirds defensemen with a plus-14 rating. He also continued to show the physical side of his game, including a pair of memorable fights against Calgary’s Alex Gallant. Hammell remains under contract through 2027-28 and will enter his second professional season looking to stay healthy and build on his promising first year. Jayd Serdy
June 2025 – Hammell signed his entry level contract with Seattle on June 1st to cap off a solid season with Everett in the WHL. He grew his offensive totals to 10 goals and 28 assists for 38 points across 59 games, and halved his penalty minutes to 25. It’s a safe bet that Hammell will get a shot to join the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the AHL as many of Seattle’s rookies are hoping to graduate to as well. The Kraken boast one of the deeper prospect pools in the NHL, so Hammell will have to bide his time in the AHL until he shows the ability to usurp an incumbent defenseman at the NHL level. He’s worth continuing to watch, but not worth a fantasy investment at the present time.  Alex Wyatt
September 2024- Hammell put in a solid body of work in the 2023-2024 season for the Everett Silvertips. He scored five goals and 20 assists for 25 points in 52 games. He also added to his PIM totals, reaching 56, a high water mark in his career. He enters the 2024-2025 season as the team’s Captain, and looks to cement a decent WHL career that has shown him grow his point production each year. He isn’t the top offensive option in Seattle’s pipeline, but he plays a solid game that could see him earn a middle-pairing role if his development continues. Alex Wyatt 
August 2023 – Drafted 148th overall in the 2023 draft, Hammell scored 26 points in 67 games in the WHL. He will spend another season with the Silvertips and build on his skills that already appear poised for the NHL. Alex Wyatt
