July 2025 – Since being signed by the Dallas Stars, White has played in 95 AHL games for the organization, registering 22 points. While his toolkit can lead to more offensive output, his limiting factors remain size and defensive play. If he can improve those aspects of his game, he’ll likely get more offensive opportunities – but more importantly, increase his likelihood of seeing NHL time. Fantasy managers can look for White to increase his offensive production in 2025-26 playing the full season for the Texas Stars, but he’s likely not worth a spot on your watch list if he can’t put up more than half a point per game in the AHL. Ioan Gheordanescu
March 2023 – White has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars. Taylor Newby
December 2022 – Gavin White is in the midst of an amazing season. With 18 points in 17 games, he is 4th among OHL defensemen in points-per-game. His defensive game needs a lot of work, however. He has high-end speed, but he finds himself lost on the back-check at times. While his offensive creativity thrives, he is prone to turnovers when he can’t complete plays. At 20 years old, it will be a tough transition to professional hockey for white. Whether he starts next season in the AHL or the ECHL, he has a long road to the NHL. At 161 pounds, he will also need to bulk up as he enters a more physical league. On the other hand, his pure offensive IQ gives hope that White can become an impact player at the NHL level.
