February 2023 – After playing 16 games in Dallas last season, Studenic has spent all season in the AHL. The Dallas Stars have had a revolving door of players from the Texas Stars and Studenic recently got his chance. He played three games with the NHL club. Although he is quick and offensively driven, he was unsuccessful at producing. He still has some aspexts of his game to sharpen, but he could be a valuable player to an NHL team eventually. He has since been sent back down to the Texas Stars. – Taylor Newby
June 2022 – Claimed on waivers on February 23rd, Studenic found a new home in Dallas’ bottom six. Studenic is by no means a flashy player, but his sheltered offensive game allows his linemates to shine, making effective passes to help on the rush, and playing an important role along the blueline when in the offensive zone. His defensive game however still needs a lot of improvement. Now finished his fourth professional season, Studenic is still on the fence between the NHL and the AHL, although at only 23 years old, he still has time to solidify his spot. Now an RFA, it will be interesting to see if Dallas chooses to keep him, however, being dressed in four playoff games was a significant nod of trust. Aaron Itovitch
