October 2024 – Yet another Kraken prospect to have a lights out year in 2023-24, Goyette exploded to lead the OHL in scoring with 40 goals, 77 assists and 117 points in 68 games. He is up with the Coachella Valley Firebirds for the 2024-25 season where he will continue to develop his game. Watching the potential for budding chemistry between Goyette and Jagger Firkus could give Kraken fans an early look of a regular scoring summary when they both make the NHL. Al exWyatt
March 2023 – Goyette is having a fantastic sophomore season in the OHL, matching last year’s point total in 54 games, whereas last year it took him 66 games to hit his current 73 points. He is 17th in league scoring by total points and also by points per game. Two other Kraken prospects sit ahead of him in both measures—Tucker Robertson and Kyle Jackson—but have winger status instead of being a natural Centre like Goyette. This bodes well for Seattle, and shows some of the competition Goyette will need to surpass to get looks in the pro level. Alex Wyatt
July 2022 – Goyette was drafted 61st overall by the Seattle Kraken as they continue the strong two days of drafting. Pat Quinn
December 2021 – Goyette is enjoying a nice rookie season in the OHL, averaging around 20 minutes of ice timer per game and sitting top-five in team scoring. A first-round pick in the 2020 OHL draft, he missed out on his first shot at playing in the league last season but has made up for lost time so far in 2021-22.
Goyette is a near-flawless skater who can handle the puck and execute at high speeds. Not only is he fast, but he is quick and shifty. Goyette pushes the pace in transition, forcing defenders onto their heels but knows when to slow the game down and let lanes develop. He shows poise with the puck on his stick and he is a decisive distributor who identifies his options quickly, routinely finding teammates in space with accurate feeds. He has a knack for drawing defenders towards him before dishing the puck. Though he is a bit undersized, Goyette competes hard and establishes good body positioning with intelligent routes in pursuit to help disrupt opposing possessions. He is another player who could take a while to reach his potential but he could eventually reward the patience of whichever team selects him. Nick Richard
