June 2023 – Peart is a native of the Minnesota area whom was a 2nd round draft pick in the 2021 NHL draft after playing in the Minnesota high school system. He just finished his second season for St. Cloud State University in the NCAA posting 24 points in 39 games, which was an improvement from his rookie season during the 2021-22 season. He also represented the USA in the IIHF World Junior Championships during the 2022-23 season. There remains some great upside with Peart in regards to his NHL future and if he can continue to develop in the NCAA, he could become NHL ready when he is ready to jump to the professional side of the game.   Nathan Leblanc

January 2023 – Peart is a local Minnesota native who is currently playing his sophomore season for St. Cloud State University. In his rookie season, he put up 17 points in 32 games, however this season (2022-23 season), Peart has nearly matched that total in only 18 games played. Peart is an offensive puck-moving defenseman who projects as a potential second-pairing defenseman at the NHL level. His playmaking and vision allow him to put up assists, however, the Wild are ideally looking for Peart to improve his shooting to get more offense with his goalscoring. Expect Peart to stay in the NCAA for now before seasoning in the AHL. Nathan Leblanc

July 2021 – Peart was selected in the second round, 54th overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 2021 NHL Draft. Pat Quinn

July 2021 – Peart tore up the Minnesota high school ranks to the tune of 11 goals and 24 assists in just 18 games but he was unable to make the same offensive impact in the USHL, finishing with just one goal and 14 assists in 24 games for Fargo.

Peart is a strong skater who puts his quick feet to use to generate speed through crossovers. He defends well, using his stick and body positioning to keep attackers at bay while scanning for threats in the defensive zone. Peart is adept at keeping the play to the outside and cutting off lanes in the middle of his own zone. He is strong on puck retrievals, utilizing shoulder checks to identify his options on the breakout before hitting a teammate with a quick and accurate feed. There is a lot to like about Peart’s game and he has all the makings of a modern-day, two-way defender in the NHL. Nick Richard
