Landon Slaggert

October 2024 – The Chicago Blackhawks signed Slaggert to a two-year, one-way contract extension that runs through the 2026-27 season. Mark Henry

June 2023 – Slaggert has decided to return for his final year with Notre Dame before turning pro. This was a family decision that Slaggert agreed upon as his younger brother would be a freshman at Notre Dame and wanted to play alongside him. December 2020 – Slaggert has been named to Team USA for the 2021 WJHC. This honor comes after being drafted in the third round by the Blackhawks in the 2020 NHL entry draft. Slaggert is a project but brings a willingness to learn and get better every time he’s on the ice. His biggest asset is his motor, which is always turned on. This allows him to disrupt things in the offensive zone, as the opposing defencemen must always be aware of where he is. Defensively, he plays a decent game, understanding where he needs to be depending on the situation. A player like Slaggert will make mistakes, but his Marian Hossa-like desire to make up for those mistakes will endear him to coaches and fans alike. Tony Carr
