June 2023 – Ansons struggled in his first season of professional hockey with Wilkes-Barre Scranton. He played 44 games and had six points. Ansons struggled to stay in the lineup this year in a depth role being a healthy scratch at times. Ansons did pick up his offensive game for an eight-game stretch where he had three points. However, this momentum was stunted by an injury which caused him to miss the last month of the season. Ansons will have to find a way to stay in the lineup in the AHL and produce more consistently to have a shot at the NHL in the future. Tyler Ball
May 2021 – Ansons was one of the Penguins prospects who struggled to get game time during the pandemic season. He had a strong showing in the men’s league in Latvia with Zemgale, the top team in the division, before returning to Quebec in February. He only played 11 games as the Drakkar were swept in the first round of the playoffs. Ansons will likely play in Baie-Comeau for his final season of major junior eligibility next year. Kyle Watson

October 2020 – Ansons was selected by the Penguins in the fifth round, 149th overall in the 2o20 NHL Draft. He is expected to play more time in juniors until his transition to the next level. In the near future, Ansons can be projected as a bottom-line power-forward who can be used in all situations. Clare McManus
