Nick Ebert

March 2020 – After playing two seasons in separate European professional leagues, Ebert returned to North America under contract with the New York Rangers. The former seventh-round draft-pick played the entirety of the 2019-20 NHL season with the Hartford Wolfpack as a role player in the AHL. It’s highly unlikely that he reaches the caliber of play necessary to make an impact in the NHL. Brayden Olafson

May 2015 – While Ebert couldn’t crack a deep Manchester lineup consistently in 2014-15, 2012’s Mr. Irrelevant (he was the very last pick of that draft) flashed the offensive instincts, strong skating, and booming shot to become very relevant soon. The supremely confident puckmover is a candidate to enjoy a Colin Miller-like breakout in the next year or two. But like Miller, he’ll have to improve his play in his own zone. Sheng Peng

May 2014 – The Los Angeles Kings signed defenseman Nick Ebert to a three-year entry level contract on May 28th, 2014. Ebert was the Los Angeles Kings’ 7th round pick, 211th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Brendan Ross

May 2014  – Hanging out under the scouting spotlight since his early years as a minor hockey star, Nick Ebert went from a highly touted prospect to being drafted by the Los Angeles Kings with the final pick in the 2012 NHL Draft. Always a mobile defenseman with confident puck skills, Nick Ebert showed good flashes playing in Windsor but it wasn’t until he was traded to Guelph at the 2013-14 OHL Trade Deadline (with Kerby Rychel) that he truly found his two-way game. Blessed with outstanding agility and explosive acceleration, Ebert’s best weapon might be his booming point shot. Don’t sleep on Ebert simply because of his late round draft pedigree because this defenseman has good two-way upside. Brendan Ross
