Arseni Gritsyuk

Fantasy Summary

Gritsyuk is a pest that will drive opponents nuts and he can create offense for himself out of nothing at times. There is an upside if patient.

October 2024 – Early in the KHL season, Gritsyuk has continued to demonstrate his high-end puck skills and above-NHL-average skating. His shot has become a threat from most of the offensive zone, and he’s maintained his status as one of the biggest goal-scoring power play threats in the KHL. He’s scored at an above-point-per-game pace through 16 games of the season and will be a valuable middle-six scoring addition to the Devils once the KHL season ends. JP Gambatese

July 2024 – Gritsyuk continues to look like a legitimate NHL prospect. The Russian winger had a highly productive season with SKA, having 19 goals and 38 points in 50 games. He’s highly skilled and mobile and is taking steps in the defensive end. His contract ends in the 2024-25 NHL season; he should be ready for the league once he can come over if he already isn’t. Austin Kelly

August 2023 – Another strong offensive season for Gritsuk, who will be moving from Avangard Omsk to SKA St. Petersburg for the 2023-24 KHL season. 15 goals and 25 points for a 40-point season in 66 games for Omsk, good for 4th in team scoring, 3rd in PTS by a U23 KHLer. His skating and Hockey IQ are strong, and he is a dual-threat goalscorer/playmaker combo. There’s real potential for Gritsyuk to evolve into a potential top-six winger for the Devils in the future. – Austin Kelly

March 2022 – Gritsyuk has exploded offensively this season with Avangard Omsk in the KHL, earning an impressive 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points in 39 games. Among under-21 players in his league, he sits first in points per game and goals. The points and the improvements in his skating and shot represent great steps forward from the young Russian left winger, which he will look to build upon as the KHL playoffs materialize in the next few weeks. January 2021Gritsyuk showed that he is a prospect to be reckoned with, as he showed speed, consistent effort, and decent skill for Russia in their fourth-place finish at the World Juniors. Gritsyuk will now return to Omsk; at this point, his management team will decide whether he belongs in the KHL, the VHL, or the MHL. Hadi Kalakeche

December 2020 – Gritsyuk has been selected to the 2021 World Junior roster for Russia after the left-winger impressed this season in the VHL, with six points in eight games against men. He also earned a call-up to the KHL for seven games, in which he barely got on the ice and understandably got zero points. He will try to solidify his spot on the WJC roster by outworking and outskating his fellow countrymen during selection camp and hopefully gain enough prestige to get more trust from his KHL coaches on his return to the ice in Omsk. Hadi Kalakeche

March 2020 – Gritsyuk finished averaging just over a point a game with Omskie Yastrenby and even saw a few games in the VHL. He also added a couple of goals in the playoffs. Do not be surprised to see him in the KHL sometime in 2020-21.  Chris Wassel

January 2020 – Gritsyuk is as advertised. In the MHL, he has 42 points in 45 games for Omskie Yastrenby. The forward could take that next step before the MHL season ends.  Chris Wassel

June 2019 — Gritsyuk was taken 129th in the 2019 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils. He combines speed with a knack of creating space for himself. Gritsyuk possesses a deceptive shot and tenacity that led him to score 12 goals in just 30 games while playing in the MHL last year. His development will be a long-term project but one hopes for a shot at the CHL import draft.  Chris Wassel
