October 2020 – Gravel passed through the 2020 NHL Draft without a selection, making him a free agent. Jokke Nevalainen
June 2020 – Gravel didn’t get signed by the June first deadline. He re-enters the draft. Jokke Nevalainen
April 2020 – Gravel certainly knows how to win, owning a gold medal from the Ivan Hlinka tournament in 2018 and leading the Halifax Mooseheads to a Memorial Cup appearance where he was named most outstanding goaltender of the tournament in 2019. The four year starter for the QMJHL’s Mooseheads will be looking to make an impact as he moves into the next phase of his career. Where that will be is the question as all options remain open at this time but signing a contract with the Blackhawks would be preferable. Tony Carr
June 2019 – After being drafted by the Blackhawks in 2018, Gravel had an excellent season playing for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL. The Mooseheads were the hosts of the 2019 Memorial Cup and would have earned a bye into the tournament regardless of how they finished the league playoffs. Being led by Gravel in goal, they managed to play in the Presidents Cup finals, earning their place in the tournament. Gravel is a big goalie that uses his frame well, seemingly always in position to make the next save. He is capable of moving that frame around quickly, making highlight reel worth saves look somewhat routine but he is at his best when squaring up to shooters and controlling second-chance opportunities. Perhaps his best trait is his ability to elevate his game when the situation presents itself. As with most young goalies, his continued development will determine how far he goes in professional hockey. Tony Carr
