Fantasy Summary
A strong forechecker and penalty killer, Kuhlman likely holds more value for a pro club than he does for your fantasy team. Still, he is a smart and durable player that will help in the plus-minus department.

December 2022 – Kuhlman had a short tour in Seattle and has been claimed on waivers by the Winnipeg Jets. Kuhlman became available after the Kraken claimed Eeli Tolvanen from Nashville. Kuhlman posted three points through 14 games with Seattle and should be expected to do much better in Winnipeg. Peter Harling
September 2021 – Kuhlman once again split his 2020-2021 campaign between Boston and Providence. He certainly can contribute to an NHL lineup, but has not yet seized a full time role and is still working to find consistency at the top level. The team signed several veteran forwards in free agency, which will limit Kuhlman’s opportunity even more. He is still a valuable depth forward for the organization, and has the ability to take the next step as a prospect. The 2021-2022 season will be an important one for his future with the club. December 2020 – Kuhlman signed a two-year contract extension this offseason. He had a turbulent 2019-2020, fighting through an injury after making the NHL roster in training camp. He will likely be a front-runner to start the year in Boston, however with several prospects knocking on the door for NHL duty, he will need to prove that he belongs early in the season. Chris Mazza
February 2020 – Kuhlman has been bounced between the AHL and NHL since returning from his leg injury. He’s done well in Providence, managing five points through eight appearances, but has struggled to produce in his bottom-six NHL role with just six points in 25 games. At this point in his development, his intangible contributions might outweigh his offensive production, but he is a strong enough player to earn a full-time NHL depth role sooner than later. October 2019 – Kuhlman will miss at least the next four weeks after breaking a bone in his leg. After making Boston’s NHL roster to begin the season, Kuhlman failed to record a point through the team’s first eight games, and will now miss significant time with an injury. Kuhlman offered a stabilizing presence as a top-nine winger, however, his offensive ceiling was not exceptionally high. His absence opens the door for one of the Bruins other young forwards to prove their potential in the NHL. Kuhlman may have to fight for his spot once he returns. Chris Mazza
April 2019 – Signed as a college free agent in 2018, Kuhlman enjoyed a successful first year of pro hockey, managing 30 points through 58 games with Providence in addition to five points in 11 NHL games while playing primarily on Boston’s second line. He captained the University of Minnesota-Duluth to the 2017-2018 National Championship, taking home tournament MVP honors in the process. Kuhlman’s offensive upside is limited, however he has been touted as a strong leader everywhere he has played. He excels in board battles, has a decent shot and is seemingly always in position to make a play. Look for Kuhlman to push for a full time role with the NHL Bruins next season. Chris Mazza
