Fantasy Summary
He is a good fallback to give a longer look in the off-chance that both Hart and Sandstrom fall through, still years away from being an NHL fixture though.

June 2022 – Missing all of the 2020-21 season due to shoulder surgery, Ustimenko played in 19 games with the ECHL’s Reading Royals and eight games in the AHL with the Phantoms. With Lehigh Valley, Ustimenko went 1-1-3 with a 2.91 GAA and .900 SV%. A 10.2 (c) free agent this summer, the Flyers have until June 25th to submit a qualifying offer or Ustimenko becomes an unrestricted free agent. John Gove
September 2020 – Kirill Ustimenko has been intriguing in his select appearances. He flourished in the playing time he was afforded with Reading and it would seem that he’s going to need some time to catch his stride in Lehigh Valley. His one or two moments of brilliance he has each game leaves us something to look forward to. Edric Joseph
February 2019 – Despite then Flyers GM Ron Hextall’s pledge to not use an early 2017 pick on a goalie, it seems his mind was made up for him when Ustimenko was available well into the third round. Flyers management could hardly be blamed given how dominant Ustimenko continues to be in the MHL, the top Major Junior Hockey League in Russia. He has also proven to be dominant in international play at the U17 and U18 level. While he is not Shestyorkin or Samsonov in pedigree or track record, he is closing the gap quickly with his continued improvement and success. He tracks the puck well despite being athletic for his age, and only gets aggressive when he needs to be. Through it all, Ustimenko is a name to remember when planning out your depth chart in dynasty leagues. Edric Joseph
