August 2021 – Räsänen was not selected in the 2021 NHL Draft. Nick Richard
October 2020 – Räsänen passed through the 2020 NHL Draft without a selection. He will re-enter the draft in 2021. Jokke Nevalainen
June 2019 – Räsänen did not get drafted in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He is now eligible for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Jokke Nevalainen
February 2019 – Räsänen has spent his second year in a row in Jr. A SM-liiga which is the top junior level in Finland. He has played big minutes for Tappara U20 team, and has been regularly used on both special teams. He’s posted great offensive numbers but they may be a bit misleading considering his skill level. He’s very mature for his age both mentally and physically. Räsänen has also represented Finland at the U18 level in multiple tournaments where he’s usually been the team captain. But he’s been used in a shutdown role on Team Finland, and that role might suit his talents better at the pro level. Räsänen may follow the footsteps of his older brother Aapeli and go to NCAA before testing his talents against NHL competition. He’s a few years away but could end up being a nice two-way defenseman on the bottom-pair for some NHL team. Jokke Nevalainen
