March 2024 – Damiani has been acquired by the Calgary Flames in exchange for Mathias Emilio Pettersen. Curtis Rines

January 2024 – Damiani is in his fourth season with the Texas Stars. Though there was hope that he could be a high-scoring forward, it seems as though he has become more of a middle-six guy. He is pesky and loves getting under the opponents skin. Although, with some of the other players in the Dallas Stars pipeline, it isn’t likely that he will get a call-up should the opportunity arise. February 2023 – After playing in the NHL in previous seasons, it seems as if Damiani hasn’t been progressing. His scoring in the AHL isn’t what it should be for a player with experience in the NHL. He uses his speed up and down the ice and constantly hounds the puck. He loves being pesky and getting under his opponent’s skin. Although his game isn’t as creative or flashy as it could be for someone with his speed, he is still able to move the puck with great control. Taylor Newby

June 2022 – Having finished his second full-time pro season, Damiani’s development seems to have stalled. Playing at exactly a point-per-game in his 2020-21 AHL campaign, Damiani, in 55 games in the AHL this season, had only 36. During the 2021-22 campaign, he played his first NHL game, scored his first NHL goal, and it is likely he gets some more time in the NHL this upcoming season. Having grown quite a bit since his draft year, Damiani is now 5-10 and 170 pounds, and is not afraid to play a physical game, with 42 penalty minutes in the AHL this past season, and could very well turn into a consistent bottom-six checking winger for the Stars, with his ceiling remaining as a middle-six center. February 2021 – Damiani is off to a hot start leading the Stars AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars, accumulating six points in six games. Damiani has been a captain at every level he has played and was above a point per game in his final two seasons of his OHL career. It is encouraging to see him produce in the AHL as a 20 year old. The Texas Stars are finally back in action after a lengthy break so we will see if the time off served as rest or rust for the young prospect. Mike Kosciesza

August 2020 – In his last season of OHL play, Damiani was named captain of the Kitchener Rangers. Although his overall offensive numbers diminished slightly, he became the team’s leading scorer and was the go-to offensive weapon for the Rangers. Damiani is an undersized forward at 5’10, but he has the speed that is needed to overcome that deficiency. Look for Damiani to make the jump to professional hockey next year with the Texas Stars where he may need at least a couple of seasons to grow his game. I envision Damiani’s realistic role (should he make the NHL) as a second line/second powerplay type guy who can provide some secondary scoring to the tune of 20 goals and 45 to 50 points. February 2019 – After putting up seasons with points-per-game averages of 0.35 and 0.52 in the last two seasons, Damiani has exploded onto the scene this season with 62 points in his first 40 games. While he had some low point totals for a speedy centre in his two years before the draft, he has given the Stars some reason to be excited about the future. It will be worth watching to see if these point totals will continue in the future, before committing to this player in your fantasy league. Nate Duffett
