October 2020 – Dawson Leedahl did not receive a qualifying offer from the Rangers. The 24-year-old undrafted free-agent signee will again become an unrestricted free agent. Brayden Olafson
September 2020 – The 24-year-old RFA will require a qualifying offer from the Rangers of $735,000. After playing only two games with the Maine Mariners it seems unlikely that he will make a return to the Rangers’ organization. Brayden Olafson
September 2019 – Leedahl was re-assigned to the Rangers’ farm team in Hartford in time for AHL training camp to begin. The 23-year-old did not get the opportunity to play in any Rangers’ preseason games and will have to fight for his roster spot in the AHL or risk being re-assigned yet again to the Maine Mariners of the ECHL. Brayden Olafson
March 2019 – Leedahl’s fantasy relevance has dropped off a cliff in his sophomore pro slate. The 22-year-old is capable of creating offence in the third pro North American league, but has struggled mightily at the AHL level. The Ranger’s will be forced to endure another season of the underwhelming prospect before allowing him to pursue a future with another organization. Brayden Olafson
August 2018 – The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan product played the majority of his rookie professional season with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL where he didn’t quite manage a point per game. At left-wing, he should get a more prominent opportunity in Hartford as a sophomore. Leedahl has two more years on his contract to make an impression so the twenty-two year old shouldn’t be entirely written off yet, but currently his chances of playing in the NHL are very low. Brayden Olafson
