June 2018 – The Buffalo Sabres didn’t tender a qualifying offer to Antipin, making him an unrestricted free agent. Jokke Nevalainen
April 2018 – In his first NHL season, Antipin was one of the best defenders on an extremely weak Buffalo squad where he notched 10 assists in 48 games. Still yet to record an NHL goal, Antipin has teased an improvement on his shot, but it’s still very weak and need some work. The end of his season was cut short due to a scary concussion after getting hit into the boards. He also suffered a broken nose, dental injuries, and various facial lacerations. Marcus Griep
May 2016 – As expected, Antipin signed with Buffalo after Metallurg Magnitogorsk was eliminated from the KHL playoffs.
March 2017 – The 24-year-old continues to produce with Metallurg Magnitogorsk while it pushes further into the Gagarin Cup playoffs. While he does not have a giant stature, Antipin uses strong skating and offensive zone creativity to make plays, often pinching or controlling the puck down low in the offensive zone. Has a sense of what the do with the puck before it is on his stick. In his own zone, Antipin can push the opposition to the outside. Stays with his man but can sometimes get caught behind his own net. Max Marko
