Frédéric Allard

May 2023 – After earning three NHL games with the Canadiens this past season, Allard signed a one-year deal with Lulea of the SHL. This could very well be it for the 25-year-old in the NHL, but he still has the upside of a fringe #6 or #7 if he earns an NHL deal in 2024-25. Aaron Itovitch

March 2023 – Allard was acquired by the Canadiens from the LA Kings in exchange for forward Nate Schnarr. Curtis Rines

July 2022 – Allard signed a one-year two-way deal to stick with the Kings organization for 2022-23. Allard was acquired in a midseason trade from Nashville, where he received a larger role with the Reign. He immediately benefitted, putting up 10 points through 15 appearances. Given the Kings depth on the right side, Allard figures to be a depth option for the team in the case injury strikes the blueline as it did frequently in 2021-22. Sean Crocker

March 2022 – Allard has been traded to the LA Kings in exchange for Brayden Burke. He moves from one organization with a lot of NHL dmen to an organization with a lot of similar defensemen trying to make the NHL full time. At least he has more of a chance to make the roster in LA. Pat Quinn

April 2021 – Allard saw some time earlier this season in Austria playing for VSV EC with a rather strong showing through 25 games. With his continued well-rounded play in the AHL playing with Rockford, Allard is quietly producing offensively at an impressive pace with 10 points through 10 games. He saw his first taste of NHL time in March on a one-game stint and could see more action should the Predators fall out of the playoff picture and elect to move some veterans at the deadline. Allard remains a modest fantasy prospect option in dynasty leagues. Nicholas Kawka

April 2020 – Steady as she goes for Allard.  While the former 3rd rounder in 2016 has moved away from being a pure point producer from the back end, Allard has really rounded out his defensive play and is a stabilizing presence on the blueline.  He boasted a plus-24 rating for Milwaukee this season and has paired well alongside a number of rushing defenders.  The right-shot defender has a good head for the game and sees the ice well.  He may not be exceptional in one particular facet of the game and offer little fantasy value, Allard is dependable and should still factor in as an option for Nashville long-term. Nicholas Kawka

December 2019 – In his third AHL season in Milwaukee, Allard continues to be a model of consistency showing durability and steady production during his early pro years.  It is his dependable stay at home presence that looks to be his ticket to the next level. Nicholas Kawka

May 2019 – Allard’s second AHL season saw a decrease in goal scoring but a dramatic change in assists. The defenseman set career highs in assists and points with 25 and 29, respectively. Allard also had a goal and an assist in Milwaukee’s first round exit in the AHL playoffs. He still needs a year or two in order to be ready for the NHL but he’s coming along faster than expected. September 2018 – Allard had a strong rookie campaign for the Milwaukee Admirals in 2017. Allard played in 55 games with Milwaukee and three games in the ECHL for Norfolk in his first professional season. The quick puck mover boasts an impressive shot, good passing, and good skating, which allowed for him to have an impressive eight goals and 24 points in the 2017-2018 campaign. Allard will be back in Milwaukee this season and will be a big factor in their success. Allard’s fantasy potential is relatively high, especially if you’re looking for power-play points and assists. His plus/minus rating is consistently low, however. Matt Somma

May 2017 —Having played almost a point-per-game pace for the past two regular seasons in the QMJHL, Allard seems to be ready for pro hockey. This season he had 14 goals and 65 points in 63 games during the regular season and in the playoffs he scored 4 goals and added 14 points in 17 games.

The assistant captain of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens possesses an interesting combination of strong skating, good active stick play, hard and accurate shots and precise, smart passes. Allard is a creative two-way player that has offensive upside. He has been good on the power play, but needs some work on his defensive side to be NHL ready.   Niko Salminen
