August 2023 – Berdin agreed to a two-year deal this summer with HC Sochi of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), which will not expire until April 30, 2025. He played 19 games in 2022-23 for HC Sochi, finishing with a 4-11-1 record, a .914 SV% and a 3.26 GAA. Berdin is now a Group VI unrestricted free agent (UFA), and the Jets no longer own his NHL rights. Mark Henry

April 2020 – Berdin cemented himself as the Moose’s starting goaltender this year, appearing in 42 games. After bouncing between the AHL and ECHL during the 2018 season, he really did take the next step in his development and remains an intriguing goaltending option for the Jets in the future. Jamie Zadow

June 2018 – Berdin signed a three-year entry level deal with the Jets in May and will be set to join the Moose in the AHL for the upcoming campaign. The 20-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL, and last year he led the way with a 24-13-5 record, 2.65 GAA and .921 SV% in 45 games. The young Russian has raw talent and considering the depth in front of him, Berdin is likely a long-term project for the Jets. Jamie Zadow

May 2017 – Berdin has lightning-quick reflexes, and is highly aware on the ice, which helps him effectively track difficult-to-trace shots in traffic. He blocks rapid-fire shots well when bombarded and seems best when challenged, but sometimes can slip up when action slows and he gets out of his rhythm. He’s also not afraid to go beyond the top of the crease to meet approaching shooters. Could stand to add some bulk to his lanky, 163-pound frame.

Spent the 2016-17 USHL campaign with a sub-.500 Sioux Falls squad yet registered solid stats with a 14-12-1-3 record, 2.73 goals-against average, and .925 save percentage, tied for second in the league. Dominated the 2015-16 World Junior A Challenge with a 0.80 GAA, .968 SV% and was named to the tournament’s all-star Team joining Cale Makar, Tyson Jost and German Rubtsov. Kevin Wickersham
