June 2020 – Krag-Christensen didn’t get signed by the June first deadline, making him a free agent. Jokke Nevalainen
April 2018 – This season the 19-year old Danish winger spent time in multiple leagues across both Finland and Denmark and once again dressed for the national side. NKC has been a bit of a nomad his young career, finding his most recent success with Rungsted Seier Capital. For Rungsted he racked up 10 points in 16 games which included seven assists. Having moved back to Denmark to play it is hard to say what the future holds for NKC though it is very likely the Blues will once again bring him over for the summer development camps. The size and skating is there, though the rest of the tools need to shine a bit more outside of his stints with the Danish National Team. Josh Epstein
February 2017 – With their first seventh rounder in the 2016 draft, St. Louis selected one of the youngest draft eligible players, 17 year-old Nikolaj Krag Christensen. He was one of three players from Denmark drafted, a record for the country. During his draft year he played mostly for the RØdovre Mighty Bulls in the Metal Ligaen, the premier league in Denmark and held his own. As the youngest player on the team, the 6-03 Krag played in 30 games scoring two goals and assisting on two other. Unfortunately he suffered a broken arm towards the end of the season that cost him the playoffs. A prolific scorer throughout his career in the lower leagues in Denmark, Krag made the move to Sweden for the 2016-17 season to be part of the Rogle J20 program which has provided him with a better opportunity to develop his skills. Through 28 games this year the big Dane has scored 10 goals, fourth highest on the team, and added the same amount of helpers. He’s even managed to get a cup of coffee in the SHL, skating in five games while being held pointless. On the international stage, Krag represented Denmark for the second time at the World Junior Hockey Championships and was one of the team’s top players scoring two goals and two assists in five tournament games.
Big, skilled, and knows how to put the biscuit in the basket, Krag is exactly the type of player all teams should be looking to draft in the seventh round. He’s a number of years away but keep an eye on him to see how he develops over the next couple of seasons. Brad Phillips
