Fantasy Summary

Big center who has most of his scoring chances in front of the net. Generates not much on offence but could be a complimentary piece with faster players on his wing.

July 2024 – Brown spent the whole season injured and will become a UFA after not being qualified by the Lightning. What the future holds for Logan is unknown and so too is his health status at the moment. The future for the former 11th overall pick does not look promising with major health issues plaguing him so far in his career. If Brown does get a deal from some team, it will be a two-way deal leaving him on the fringes of the NHL. Markus Roach

July 2023 – Brown signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning worth $775,000. Pat Quinn

May 2023 – During a season filled with injury, 25-years-old Brown had an underwhelming outing posting six points in 30 games. With his contract coming up, it will be interesting to see if the Blues qualify him during the summer. Cedrick Blais-Turcotte

June 2022 – Acquired early in the year for Zach Sanford, Brown was able to fill-in on the Blues fourth line for a good chunk of the season. When he was in the AHL, he showed that he was clearly above that level by racking up 17 points in 19 games. When he was called up to the NHL, it was a different story. Despite starting off hot, scoring six points in his first nine games as a Blue, Brown continued to show why he has yet to make the show full-time. In his remaining 30 games he only scored five more points and one more goal. He was even a healthy scratch the entire post-season. If he wants to stick at the next level, he’ll have to show more consistency as well as find a way to create more offence, even in a bottom six role. Gordon Munro

September 2021 – Brown was traded to the St. Louis Blues, along with a conditional pick, for Zach Sanford. Pat Quinn

January 2021 – Another season starts and Logan Brown is on the outside looking in at the Ottawa roster. Assigned back to Belleville, Brown will look to work his way into the Senators lineup in a year that will present numerous other challenges as the NHL and AHL play during a pandemic. There is some feeling within the fanbase that the Senators are taking too cautious of an approach with Brown and that he needs to be given an opportunity. Turning 23 in March, Brown is getting to put up or shut up time but seemingly to no fault of his own, he hasn’t been given much of a chance to show whether he can. The Logan Brown situation will be worth monitoring going forward as he seems to be NHL ready while the Senators continue to chose to ice NHL veterans with little-to-negative on-ice value. Tony Ferrari

October 2020 – Could this finally be the year that the massive center hits the NHL fulltime? Logan Brown has seen NHL game action in each of the last three years but last year, playing in 23 games, was the first time he lasted longer than four games. He has been a very productive player at the AHL level and has seemingly passed every test except the NHL to this point. The 2016 first-round pick has been physically ready for the NHL for a while now. His playmaking and vision are still his strengths and he should be a productive player next season as Ottawa begins to bring in more and more talent. Tony Ferrari

March 2020 – Brown has been out of action with an injury but he has been producing at over a point-per-game at the AHL level, 28 points in 25 games. He still remains a very high-upside playmaking center who projects as a top-six option going forward. He could be a member of what looks to be a large contingent of young players joining the Ottawa roster as early as the beginning of next season. He likely continues to ply his trade at the AHL level for the remainder of this season, assuming the AHL gets back to action at some point after being suspended along with most other sports leagues worldwide as the COVID-19 virus halts play for health and safety of the players, fans and team staff members. Tony Ferrari

January 2020 – After spending just about two months on the NHL roster, Brown was assigned to Belleville just before the New Year. He had started hot with the big club but had only three points in his final 13 games before the demotion. He has shown the ability to be a dominant force in the AHL in the offensive end of the ice and his 200-foot game has grown over the course of the year. Brown has shown that his passing ability and vision have continued to improve and he has been utilizing his large frame more this season. Doing so at the NHL level will be key to his sustained success. With a strong run in the AHL since he was sent down, it’s likely only a matter of time before the dual-threat pivot makes another appearance in Ottawa. Tony Ferrari

November 2019 – Logan Brown has begun to cement himself into the Senators’ top-six. He scored his first NHL goal and has five points in ten games thus far with the big club. The most encouraging sign for Brown is that he seems to be driving play much better this time around with Ottawa. In his previous stints with the club, he’s had some timidness to his game and has failed to assert himself as he’s done recently. If Brwon can stay healthy, he can certainly keep up this half-point-per-game pace and continue to develop at the NHL level. Tony Ferrari

October 2019 – After a hot start in Belleville, Brown finally got the call-up to the NHL that he had been waiting for and Senators head coach, DJ Smith, has indicated that he needs to put Brown in a position to succeed and he seems to be doing just that by putting him on the top line with Tkachuk and Duclair. Brown played his first game with the Sens on Wednesday, October 23rd and fit in well. He was able to showcase his puck skill, offensive talents, and the physical game as he worked all 200-feet of the ice. An impressive debut gives the 2016 first-rounder a solid base to build on. This could be the jump into the NHL that Brown needs. Tony Ferrari

September 2019 – Logan Brown will begin the year with the Belleville Senators of the AHL. He should receive some NHL playing time as the season goes on but his underwhelming preseason and training camp didn’t do him any favours when it came down to the final NHL roster. Tony Ferrari

September 2019 – After a strong finish to the 2018-19 season, Brown started out having a strong camp. In practices and the team’s scrimmages, Brown was among the best and most active players. He seemed to have come into camp motivated and ready to claim a spot on the Ottawa roster. His strong camp began to slow however as the preseason games started. In three games he’s been held off the scoresheet and has at times looked timid and overwhelmed. He is among the final 31 players in camp and the coaching staff seems to be giving him every chance to prove his worth. Brown will need to have a strong finish to camp if he wants to break camp with the NHL club. If not, he will be given the chance to go down to the AHL and attempt to dominate in Belleville. Time will tell how many games Brown plays with the Senators in 2019-20. Tony Ferrari

May 2019 – Brown completed a successful rookie campaign in Belleville. Adjusting to the pro game can be a challenge, and Brown was able to maintain solid offensive numbers, putting up .75 points-per-game average. He found great chemistry with Drake Batherson as did pretty much anyone who played with him. The knock on Brown continues to be the way he uses his size. At six-foot-six and 218 pounds, Brown tends to shy away from using his size to his advantage by leveraging his reach and available power in puck battles. He also has faced a challenge staying healthy dating back to his junior career. If he can use his size and find a way to maintain his health, Brown projects to be a solid top-six forward. While it may not happen next season, look for him to get more than the two games he got in Ottawa this season. Jordan Dehane

September 2018 – Despite breaking camp with the team last season, Brown will begin the 2018-19 campaign with the AHL’s Belleville Senators. The move is sure to raise eyebrows with some people given that the team is in full blown rebuild mode and Brown is a perceived top two prospect in the organization. It’s far too early to write him off yet though as lots of 20 year old’s have benefited from a little time in the minors. He should help inject some much needed offense to a Belleville squad that struggled mightily to score in 2017-18. Brad Phillips

July 2018 – For the second year in a row, injuries, and a trip to the WJHC, cause Brown to suit up for about half of his team’s games in 2017-18. He played just 32 contests split between the Windsor Spitfires and the Kitchener Rangers but when he was in the lineup he was a force, establishing a new career best in goals with 22 and added 26 assists, finishing the year with a point per game average of 1.50, the ninth best mark in the OHL. Brown was an animal for the Rangers in the playoffs by amassing 27 points and a league best 22 helpers to place fifth in playoff scoring. All-in-all it was a nice bounce back season after an underwhelming draft+1 campaign. Worst case is he plays 2018-19 in Belleville but certainly don’t rule out the possibility of him cracking the big club. He had a four game taste last year and you can bet he has his sights set on permanent spot, although he’ll have some competition by the name of Colin White. Brad Phillips

January 2018 – Logan Brown went into the 2018 World Junior Championship in Buffalo this year hoping to take that next step and dominate the competition. Instead, he ended up injuring his knee halfway through the group stage, only playing 3 games in the tournament with limited ice time, and logging one assist. After heading back to Ottawa to evaluate his knee and missing the bronze medal game against the Czechs, Brown was promptly moved from the Windsor Spitfires to the Kitchener Rangers in a deal that was expected for a while. When healthy, Brown had been a driving force for Windsor, providing 24 points in 15 games. Brown now goes to the Midwest division-leading, Kitchener Rangers who will most likely continue to improve on their 26-13-2 record. Brown will now join a high power offense in combination with prospects Adam Mascherin, Logan Stanley, Givani Smith, Kole Sherwood, and more. Marcus Griep

November 2017 – Brown has looked every bit like the first round pick that he was early on in the season. He broke camp with the Senators and saw action in his first four NHL and found the assist column once. But ultimately Brown was sent back for another year of development in the OHL. Seemingly not wanting to be pigeon-holes into being a playmaker, Brown has assumed the role of sniper with 10 goals in 11 games so far this year and is already halfway to besting his career high of 21. Brad Phillips

October 2017 – What a difference a year makes. Brown’s draft+1 year was by all account disappointing, failing to improve his offensive output substantially and missing out on the USA World Junior team. But thanks to some strong pre-season play and a couple of injuries Brown will start the season in  the NHL. Despite this positive development he’s won’t have much fantasy relevance this season. Brad Phillips

September 2017 – The opportunity was there for Logan Brown to make the Senators after Colin White went down with an injury (and Derick Brassard already sidelined) and seized hold of it. In three preseason games he’s notched three goals and five points and has frequently been the best player on the ice. At this point it’s hard to believe he won’t stick around for at least nine games to see how he can handle regular season action. Brad Phillips

January 2017 – For the third time this season Brown will miss a significant chunk of time with an injury. Previously missing a total of 20 games with wrist and shoulder injuries, he’s expected to miss a minimum of four weeks with his latest ailment, a right hand injury. When he has played the big centre has produced as advertised. Playing in 25 of Windsor’s games this season, Brown has 12 goals, 21 helpers and is a minus-1. With a points-per-game of 1.32 he’s slightly ahead of his 2015-16 pace of 1.25. Brad Phillips

December 2016 – Brown was one of the final cuts from Team USA. It shouldn’t come as a huge surprise given that he has battled a wrist injury that has limited the Windsor Spitfire to just 15 games this season. Brad Phillips

December 2016 – Logan Brown is one of 16 forwards names to the USA preliminary roster for the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championship. He’s a safe bet to make the team as he is clearly one of the 13 best forwards. He’s missed the past three week with a wrist injury, but Brown should be good to go in time to compete for his country. In the 15 games Brown has suited up for the Windsor Spitfires this year, he’s racked up 21 points. Despite the limited number of games he’s still third on the team in scoring. Ottawa fans will want to watch team USA closely to get a glimpse of their future with Brown and White down the middle. Brad Phillips

September 2016 – Despite his best efforts, the Sens most recent first round pick could not survive the first round of cuts at training camp this year and has been sent back to the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires. Brown should be leaned on heavily by coach Rocky Thompson to produce offense and he has the talent to finish among the league leaders in OHL scoring. Brad Phillips

August 2016 – Brown is the latest prospect from the 2016 draft class to sign his entry-level deal. He’s a long shot to make the team but will get a look at training camp in the fall and will no doubt gain valuable experience from his first pro camp. Brad Phillips

July 2016 – Logan Brown had a tale of two seasons. He was playing a passive and pass first game until the CHL Top Prospect game where he had a stand out performance dominating at times with his size and speed. His confidence seemed to swell as the season wore on, shooting more and having a far greater impact on the game. The scouts took notice, and his draft stock soared. Brown could soon be the Senators first line center for a long time, for now he has another season of junior ahead of him. Peter Harling

June 2016 – The Sens have selected the hulking 6-06 centre with the 11th pick in the 2016 Draft and traded up one spot to grab him. Brown improved statistically in his second OHL season scoring 21 times and dishing out 53 assists. He really shot up draft lists at the U18 by finishing fifth in tournament scoring with three goals and nine assists. While seen primarily as a setup man, he started to shoot more in the second half of the campaign and the goals followed. 15 of his 21 goals came after the calendar flipped to 2016  He boasts one of the best combinations of size and skill in the whole draft and has an impressive package of vision, stickhandling and elite playmaking ability. Add this all up and you get visions of Joe Thornton dancing in your head. The scariest thing about Brown, for opponents at least, is that he may be still growing. He grew half an inch this past season. The main knock against him is his strength but he worked to rectify this by cutting his body fat to get stronger and faster. With Colin White and now Logan Brown in the pipeline, Ottawa is starting to build some impressive prospect depth down the middle. Brad Phillips

November 2015 – Teams looking for a potential number one center can look to Logan Brown. Brown is a playmaking center with size and is a powerful and agile skater. He uses his height to protect the puck and is strong along the boards dominating puck possession. His great vision makes players on his wings better and he has defensive awareness as well. Peter Harling

February 2016 – He has the size and strength teams desire in a first line center and has a strong all-around game. He reads and reacts to plays, protects the puck well and is strong on the boards. First line center may be a stretch, but he would make an excellent second line pivot. Peter Harling
