Fantasy Summary
There’s little doubt, he’ll be a contributor at the NHL-level, but the question is whether it will be in a more offensive or defensive role.

March 2020 – The Jets loaned Spacek to the Kings’ affiliate, the Ontario Reign, in exchange for defenseman Daniel Brickley. Spacek remains a scoring threat, but has yet to crack the 50-point mark at the AHL level and seems to be more of a one-dimensional powerplay specialist at this point of his career. Jamie Zadow
March 2019 – Spacek has been a steady offensive hand for the Moose this season — now third in team scoring — and developed great chemistry with Mason Appleton in the top six. Jamie Zadow
January 2019 – Spacek continues to chug along in the AHL, currently second on the Moose with 26 points in 39 games this season. He has show more of a play-making side to his game this year with just five goals to show for. Again, the offensive upside is there, but with a prospect logjam in the Jets’ system he still might be a long-shot to get a look this season. Jamie Zadow
May 2018 – Spacek was once a terror for junior defensemen in the WHL, racking up 139 points in 120 career games with the Red Deer Rebels. He has a quick release on his shot and can fool most goaltenders. This was on display in his rookie year with the Moose last season where he tallied 17 goals and 38 points in 70 games (he tied Sami Niku for the team lead in powerplay goals with 10). The biggest knock on Spacek is his defensive awareness and the ability to play that two-way game that so many NHL coaches covet. He has the quickness to stick with the Jets one day, but with such a stacked minor league system, he may need some more seasoning in the AHL before he is ready to make the leap. Jamie Zadow
April 2018 – Spacek has crept into the Moose’s top-10 in scoring with 14 goals and 34 points in 65 games. He hasn’t exactly taken the AHL by storm this year with the type of offensive flare we saw from him during his junior days, but he’s having a solid second half to the campaign. Spacek still needs plenty of seasoning at the pro level before he will be ready to make the leap to the NHL. Jamie Zadow
February 2018 – In his first full season with the Moose, Spacek has struggled at times to find his scoring touch with just nine goals and 23 points in 44 games. He shows flashes of scoring prowess with that quick release on the powerplay, but he is still a ways off in his development at the pro level and will likely be a project for the Jets organization moving forward. Jamie Zadow
September 2017 – Spacek will look to establish his scoring presence in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose this season. There, he should get plenty of powerplay time and an opportunity to build on his terrific junior season in the WHL. There is plenty of depth in the Jets forward core, so Spacek projects as more of a long-term fantasy play. Jamie Zadow
August 2017 – Spacek led the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels in scoring last season with 30 goals and 85 points in 59 games. The 20-year-old Czech forward signed a three-year entry level contract with the Jets back in June and is expected to play full-time with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL this year. Spacek also led the Rebels with 12 points in their first-round playoff loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in seven games. He will look to build on his strong junior year as he prepares for the pro game this fall. Jamie Zadow
October 2016 – Spacek wasn’t able to crack the Jets roster and was assigned back to his junior club, the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL. David Dickenson
September 2016 – Spacek came over to North America in 2015-16 to play with the Red Deer Rebels, where he enjoyed a strong 54 point season in 61 games and got to play in the Memorial Cup. Spacek has a nice offensive game to match his defensive prowess and could fill almost any role on a roster. He plays very well in traffic and is a nice complimentary players to other skilled players on his line. David Dickenson
