March 2018 – Søberg’s defending champion Oilers dropped their semifinal series to last year’s finals opponent Frisk Asker, wrapping up the 22 year-old’s busiest year in the Norwegian Get Ligaen. His 11 goals and seven assists were both dropoffs from last year’s 13-goal, 15-assist campaign despite Søberg skating in 12 more contests over 2017-18. He did place third on the squad in goals over the regular season however. Kevin Wickersham
December 2017 – While his production has picked up, now with ten goals and six assists in 27 games, Søberg has battled injuries of late suffering a neck injury on top of previous dings. A rash of health ailments has hit his Stavanger squad, winner of the last six Norwegian Get Ligaen titles, a big reason they are off to a very un-Oilerlike 8-10-2-7 start. Kevin Wickersham
October 2017 – With a goal, an assist and team-worst minus-five in eight Stavanger contests this year, Søberg’s production hasn’t been stellar for the fifth-place Oilers. He’ll look to return to his previous near point-per-game pace as his third campagin with the club progresses. Kevin Wickersham
July 2017 – Søberg, a former sixth-round Columbus selection, wrapped up his second campaign in Norway’s ten-team Get Ligaen and recently signed a one-year extension with the league champion Stavanger Oilers. His 13 goals and 15 assists in only 30 contests placed eighth on the Oilers in scoring. At age 22, the Olso native still has plenty of time to return to North America, but currently seems rooted in Norway. Kevin Wickersham
February, 2015 – Soberg is getting his first taste of North American hockey this season, playing for the Windsor Spitfire in the OHL. The transition isn’t proving to be easy, but he’s not exactly struggling either. With 22 points in 41 games, there is still room for improvement. He played very well for Norway’s U20 team in division D1A, recording six points in four games. His speed is his best asset. – Chris Bagwell
April 2014 – Soberg spent this season playing for Frolunda HC in Sweden’s J20 SuperElit league (highest junior league in Sweden). He played extremely well, gathering 21 goals and 17 assists in 45 games which are impressive statistics for an 18-year-old. Soberg got a small taste of the SHL but only played in one contest. He’s a very talented offensive player with great speed. He’ll need a few years to gain some muscle and work on his play away from the puck. Chris Bagwell
