The 2024 DobberProspects team has completed our annual audit of NHL teams prospect depth. While there are many other outlets that release their own organizational rankings, this is the only ranking targeted at fantasy hockey.

Peter Harling (Managing Editor) has assembled a team of senior writers from DobberProspects including Pat Quinn, Curtis Rines, Aaron Itovitch, Victor Nuno, Hayden Soboleski, Ben Gehrels, Puneet Sharma, Mark Henry, and the man himself, Dobber. Together we have collaborated to produce a consensus overall organizational fantasy ranking.

Our goal is to rank each NHL teams top 15 prospects. For purposes of this exercise, we only considered players under 25-years-old and with less than 100 career regular season games played.

Each player ranked in their teams top 15 was scored between 1-10. A rank of 10 is reserved for generational type players such as Connor Bedard. A score of 5 would be for a player with about a 50/50 chance of being a regular NHL player and a 1 for a player that is a very long shot to have an NHL career or have any fantasy value.

Players who were projected to be a top six forward or top pairing defender or starting goalie were scored higher. Again, this is a fantasy ranking so players that we expect to have high fantasy upside were ranked higher than real life player value. However, we do take into consideration added value for players that have multi-category upside. This includes hits, blocked shots, penalty minutes, faceoff wins etc.

This series of articles will release results in a countdown with a new article each day starting at the 32^nd ranked team, revealing the teams overall score, each writers’ rankings and scores and an overall outlook of the organization. This series will post the first article on Monday April 1^st and conclude on May 11th.
