Observations:
September 2017 – After another poor season and a reoccurring back injury, Joel Lowry wasn’t tendered a qualifying offer by the Kings, and has become a free agent. Jamie Barber
September 2016 – Lowry's 2014-15 season-ending back injury (as mentioned below) continued to be an issue for him at the start of the 2015-16 season, as his back required surgery. He missed training camp, but Lowry finally saw action later in the season, getting into three games with the Monarchs for rehabilitation and then playing 41 games with the Reign. In 41 games Lowry scored five goals and six assists. Lowry signed an ELC in August. Hopefully, 2016-17 will be a healthy season for the son of Dave Lowry, and he will likely spend the season with the Reign. Philip Kamhi
August 2015 – Lowry suffered a season-ending back injury in 2014-15 with Cornell, so we'll see where he's at in Ontario this fall. For what it's worth, the Kings thought highly enough of the 23-year-old to still sign him to a two-year entry-level deal this month. He projects to be a bottom-six grinding winger. Sheng Peng
Lowry might contribute some PIMs and an occasional goal in the NHL, but I wouldn't count on more than that.
