Observations:
June 2017 —He is perhaps the biggest surprise of this season and no doubt on of the biggest reasons that the Predators are currently playing against the Penguins in the Stanley Cup Playoff Finals. Some had him penciled in as a potential breakout candidate, but few expected an offensive burst like this from a player that wasn’t even drafted in most of the standard fantasy leagues. The fast paced, up-tempo attacking system suits him well.
“Arvi” will be a RFA this summer and most likely, he is going to get paid. Despite him cashing in, the future looks very promising for the Predators. Having Josi, Ekholm and Ellis tied up for the next two seasons at a little over $10 million combined cap hit, this core and the Predators cup window, will stay open beyond this season. The line of Forsberg, Johanssen and Arvidsson have only just arrived.

December 2016 — Viktor Arvidsson has been a pleasant surprise for the Nashville Predators. He is leading the team in shots on goal and is only one point behind P.K. Subban, who leads the Preds with 17 points. Another impressive stat is his 18th-best Corsi rating in the league. “Arvi” is playing mostly with Ryan Johansen and James Neal on the first line. His time on the power play is up by almost a minute per game, from what it was in October. Not only is he scoring points and shooting the puck a lot, but he can provide your team with some hits and blocks as well. The relentless Swede went undrafted twice, but is now making a case for himself to be a fixture in the Predators’ top six. He and Filip Forsberg are the team’s two best left wingers at the moment. The Golden Knights would be undoubtedly interested in Arvidsson, if the Predators won’t protect him from the expansion draft. Niko Salminen
March 2015 – Since signing his entry-level deal with Nashville over the summer, Arvidsson has yet to disappoint while playing for Milwaukee of the American League. Any thought that he would have a difficult time adjusting to the longer season and smaller ice surface on this side of the pond has been dispelled as he has been one of the Admirals leading scorers with 20 goals and 31 assists in 63 games played. Although undersized, his offensive prowess and defensive zone awareness makes him an intriguing player in Peter Laviolette’s aggressive and attacking system, which he will get to experience after recently being recalled by the big club. Fantasy Outlook: A-
