Observations:

 

September 2014 – The Stars have placed Scott Glennie on waivers. If he clears, Glennie will be assigned to the Texas Stars for the upcoming season. Rex Doty

 

January 2014 – Glennie registered one shot on goal in the Texas Stars’ 4-3 shootout win at home against Iowa on Jan. 22. Sidelined since Dec. 18 (shoulder), he returned to the lineup on the team’s third forward line alongside center Chris Mueller and winger Brendan Ranford. The 22-year old looks to regain a near point per game average (.67) that he’s accumulated in 18 AHL appearances this season as he nears a full recovery. Clayton Bailey

 

December 2013 – After suffering a shoulder injury on Dec. 18 against the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), Glennie will be sidelined until at least after the first of the year. “He’ll be out for awhile,” Texas coach Willie Desjardins said. “He’s got a lengthy injury.” The former 8th overall selection in 2009 has recorded 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 17 AHL games this season, seemingly not in consideration for consistent NHL playing time just yet. Clayton Bailey

 

May 2013- The 2012-13 season will be one that Glennie will just as soon forget. Between a poor start and losing nearly two full months due to a hand injury, this season has been a disaster overall. Glennie did show some signs of turning things back to the positive after returning from the injury. He posted nine of his 14 points in the final 18 games. Like the most of the Stars roster he was invisible during the playoffs, as he, and the team, struggled to score. Rex Doty

 

March 2013 – After ending 2011-12 on a high note, things started poorly in 2012-13 – and then they got worse. Glennie has taken a big step backward in his development, and has battled injuries on top of that. Still only 21. – Dobber

 

December, 2011 – Former eighth overall pick Scott Glennie has not lived up to expectations since taking the next step in his career. Depending on whose expectations they are. Held to nine points through his first 30 career AHL games, that five different defensemen were out-scoring Glennie before the mid-season break was not a good sign. As we’ve warned annually since 2009, the slick-skating forward has benefited from some stacked teams that included names like Brayden Schenn and Mark Stone. Now that Glennie has had an opportunity to show his talents on his own terms, the truth is uglier than even we expected. – Matt Bugg
