Observations:
January 2014- Elias Lindholm was one of 13 forwards named to Team Swedens’s final roster for the 2014 World Junior Championships in Malmo, Sweden. Lindholm has had some trouble adjusting in the NHL being a smaller forwards, he has faced some injury trouble, but that wasn’t an issue for him at the World Junior’s in Sweden. Lindholm finished the tournament with 14 shots on goal in seven games and nine points overall, two coming on the power play. Lindholm displayed a lot of the magic Carolina saw in him drafting him at number five overall. Lindolm will continue to fill out and his game will round out nicely in the NHL. Andrew Ward
December 2013- Lindohlm had a productive game VS the Sharks on the Sixth putting up one goal and three total points. He’s been a bit of a slow developer but no one expected Lindholm to light a fire in the ice. His minutes should increase and his development will continue. Carolina is playing well of late and Lindholm will benefit from that. – Andrew Ward
October 2013- Lindohlm returned to his fourth line role after suffering a minor injury against Philly on October 6th, two games later he scores his first NHL goal against Washington. Lindholm doesn’t hold much fantasy value on the fourth line, it he is a quick offensively skilled forward. He could move up the depth chart at any time, keep an eye on him. – Andrew Ward
June 2013 – Elias Lindholm was selected fifth overall by the Carolina Hurricanes. Lindholm is a fantastic two way player and is a versatile forward comfortable at center and wing. Elias will add depth to the Hurricanes lineup and responsible playmaking skills to complieent his accurate shot and consistent point totals. – Andrew Ward
February 2013 – Lindholm is not garnering the attention that a player of his skill level deserves for the 2013 NHL Draft. As one of the more complete two-way forwards available in the 2013 draft class, Lindholm is a player that comes with a high NHL likelihood. To boot, Lindholm has been exceptional in Elitserien play this season playing amongst men and sits as the top scorer among all undrafted players. Lindholm’s attention to detail, two-way abilities and consistent production makes him a sure-fire top 10 selection. Brendan Ross
Fantasy Outlook: B+
Lindholm owns solid offensive skills with a good upside and he will be a player that will log heavy minutes in all situations making him especially valuable in fantasy leagues that reward special team categories.
