September 2019 – Falkovsky has been cut from Minnesota’s training camp and assigned to the Iowa Wild. After spending the majority of 2018-19 in the ECHL, the hulking defenceman will be striving to maintain an AHL role this upcoming season. Sam Happi
July 2017 – The giant Belarussian made his North American debut in the OHL with the Ottawa 67’s in 2015. Early impressions of him were he skated like a giraffe on skates. However, as the season wore on he demonstrated significant improvements in balance, edgework, pivots and acceleration. He also was deployed on the power play where he was the triggerman on the point with his heavy slapper. Falkovsky is more of a defensive defenseman who can play a sound positional game with a long reach.
Falkovsky was recently signed as a free agent by the LA Kings to his three-year ELC. The Flames have good depth on defense and his projection to the NHL improves now as a member of the Kings where he has far less competition. Peter Harling
