July 2023 – Lyle signed a a one-year, two-way deal worth $775,000 with the Calgary Flames. Pat Quinn
June 2023 – Since his trade from the Bruins to the Blues for future consideration. Lyle has been justifying the trade with his new organization by his play. With the thunderbirds, he has been a 0.58 points per game in the regular season, and has kept that level in the playoff with 10 points in 18 games. For a defenseman, Lyle shoots a lot, in the AHL, he has an average of 1.8 shots per game, and this goes up season by season. Cedrick Blais-Turcotte
September 2021 – Lyle is an aggressive defenseman that likes to jump in and contribute offense whenever possible. His shot is his bread and butter, and will be his most likely ticket to reaching the next level. His overall game is also fairly well-rounded as he is consistently able to put himself in good positions to make a play in either the offensive or defensive zones. Lyle went undrafted to the NHL, and has slowly improved in each of his five OHL seasons. His steady rise culminated in setting the Owen Sound Attack’s record for goals by a defenseman, and an AHL contract with the Providence Bruins. In his first pro season, he finished second among AHL defensemen with seven goals, and further earned a two-year, entry-level contract with Boston. He spent time with fellow rookie Jack Ahcan, who seemed to play well together and who will both be fighting for an NHL roster spot this fall. Lyle will likely spend at least one more year rounding out his game in Providence, but he has become an intriguing player for Bruins fans and fantasy managers alike. Chris Mazza
