November 2020 – Chytil has blossomed into a regular and reliable NHL player for the Rangers. The 2017 draft pick is heading into a contract year and will likely split his time between the teams middle-six lines. He has greater upside than most of the other youthful forwards in the teams current lineup so is probably one of the most certain and valuable long term assets in terms of the teams prospect pool. January 2020 – Despite an exciting rookie slate with the Rangers through the spring of 2019 that saw Chytil tally near a third of a point-per-game, team brass opted to demote the Czech to kick off the 2019-20 campaign. The skilled center was not-long for the AHL, however, as he quickly demonstrated in Hartford that the demotion had motivated him. Since being recalled at the end of October, the 20-year-old has been offered relatively favorable deployment but has appeared frustrated due to a lack of conversion. Despite his moderate level of production in 2019, Chytil’s long-term fantasy potential remains quite high. Brayden Olafson

February 2019 – After just a single season in the AHL, Chytil made his transition to the NHL and has been on a steady pace since October. His hot-streak in November turned out to be just a flash in the pan, from a broad look at his production, however his consistency is an excellent sign for the future. His NHL certainty has been upgraded to the maximum, while his upside remains unchanged. Brayden Olafson

November 2018 – The kid is hot! After tallying only three assists in his first 17 games as a Ranger, Chytil has gone four consecutive contests with a goal. Recently he’s been getting deployment on the Rangers’ first four-forward power play unit. The team is on a roll and the production that we expected from the 19-year-old is finally coming into fruition. He’ll have to keep it up for the next few weeks to be considered a bona fide top-six forward but it’s a positive sign that he’s now on the right track.  Brayden Olafson

September 2018 – After an outstanding rookie campaign in North America with the Hartford Wolfpack, Chytil enters fall training camp with his sights set on a full-time NHL role with the Rangers. As one of the youngest players in his draft class, Chytil certainly made a surprising impact in one of the toughest leagues on the globe. At a glance, there appears to be an ideal spot in the Rangers’ top-9 for him, but not all Rangers pundits believe he should start the year with the Blueshirts. If Rangers brass are of the same mindset as Kevin Power, and Chytil does in fact start the year with the Wolfpack, it likely won’t be long before the team is itching for some of his dynamic skill in the NHL lineup. December 2017 — Chytil had an impressive training camp in New York as he won the Lars-Erik Sjoberg award for the Rangers top rookie as selected by the media.  The strong training camp resulted in Chytil making the Rangers opening night roster where he skated briefly in two games before being sent down to the Hartford Wolfpack.  Being the youngest player to skate in the AHL since 1974, Chytil produced 12 points (5G, 7A) in his first 15 games including a four-point night against Lehigh Valley on Oct 28th.  Chytil has since been loaned to the Czech U20 team for the upcoming world junior championships where he is expected to be one of his countries offensive leaders.  Geoff Kent

July 2017 – An extremely fast, smooth and powerful skater, Chytil accelerates quickly getting to full speed in relatively few strides. This is evident in a full range of on ice-situations – from breakaways to scrappy puck battles. Maintains balance and difficult to knock off the puck even in physical, thick traffic. Flat-out hustles all over the ice, and his slippery speed helps him race to loose pucks and establish position smartly in the offensive and defensive zones where his grit usually gives him the advantage. Increased muscle will advance his physical game further. An effective, intuitive playmaker who uses the threat of a heavy, hard wrister to draw defenders, opening passing lanes and distributing to teammates in stride. Excels at getting in opponents’ faces on defense, forcing hurried mistakes and turnovers that he can turn into scoring opportunities with his speed and playmaking skill. This translates well on the penalty kill. Still just 17-years-old, he impressed at Rangers Developmental Camp scoring two goals in the opening day scrimmage only four days after the Entry Draft. Chytil has performed well in international competition, averaging a point-per-game for the Czech squad at the most recent U-18 World Championships. Kevin Wickersham
