Clark Bishop

June 2022 – The 26-year-old Bishop has managed to play at least five games in the NHL each of the past four seasons with Carolina and Ottawa. He has played a total of 47 NHL games with one goal and seven assists, with 79 hits. He is currently an unrestricted free agent. Grant Campbell

June 2017 – Bishop finished his first season of professional hockey this past season splitting 63 games between the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers (42GP) and the ECHL’s Florida Everblades (21GP). As expected, his scoring numbers were better with the Everblades, where he scored three times and added eight assists. As a defense first player, don’t expect Bishop to put up a ton of points in the future, but his leadership and ability as a penalty killer mean he likely will be an option for the Canes in the future, if only as an injury call-up or fourth liner. Obviously not the best fantasy setup and should only be rostered in incredibly deep leagues at this point.  Kevin LeBlanc

January 2016 – Bishop has taken a big step forward offensively as the captain of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles this season.

Always known for his abilities defensively, the undersized pivot is on pace to smash his previous high of 35 points in the 2014-15 season. In 33 games this season, he is fifth on his team in scoring with 29 points. Although he is a player who has tremendous work ethic, leadership ability, and hockey IQ, Bishop does not have the elite talent that some other NHL draft picks possess. He is an above average skater who is sound in all three zones positionally, and should continue to develop into a solid faceoff man. Bishop projects as a bottom-six forward who will be a tenacious forechecker and has the game that could translate into a solid penalty killer. Unfortunately, Bishop’s real life impact will outweigh his fantasy impact unless his offensive game continues to grow. Kevin LeBlanc
